Love’s consistently sends me to a shower that’s already in use. My apologies to anyone I have disrupted trying to get into your shower room. Thank goodness people are using the locks on the inside of the door because the codes work and it allows for the handle to turn and the door to open enough for an awkward moment. It’s embarrassing for both of us. Believe me. Do better, Love’s.

I was at Flying J in Fontana a few weeks back. Same thing happened to me with the app!! But i was like 25th in line or something like that. I was like ohh hell no!! So I went inside and manager told me there was a glitch in the app! I had to write my name and number on a paper. I was actually #7 in line. A LOT better than #25. 🤣🤣🤣

A similar situation happened to me at a love's in Cleveland, Texas during the last freeze. The entire town (literally) was going to the love's to take a shower because they were the only place with water. Everywhere else had frozen pipes including hotels.

There's another reason why it takes so long because anybody can use the shower besides the truckers. My homeless buddy in Las Vegas just used one last night it was an 84 minute wait. They don't tell you how many people are in line they tell you how many minutes you have to wait or hours.

When I started in 87 as some of us may remember it could take hours. 3-4 hours sometime. Back when a truckstop may have 4-5-6 showers if u was lucky. 1st u had to wait in line with everyone who was in line to pay for fuel which was another thing all by its self. As a bedbugger back then a shower after a hot day loading furniture was something u looked forward to:)

Their were times it was so long of a wait for a shower.i just gave myself a wet wipe shower and went to bed and went back early in the morning for the shower.being out on the road and just getting crazy stupid now with the difficulty of finding parking and now the intermittent shower dilemmas.

A lot of Pilot Flying Js no longer offer showers at all or don’t offer showers on graveyard shift. Showers are a very low priority right now for them. I’ve gone an entire week where I couldn’t get a shower at all at any Pilot and had to go to a TA. I’m sure others have noticed. Pilot at Post Falls ID has permanently closed their showers. More of this is coming

My concern is. How many individuals have the Flying J app on their phones signing up for a shower with points and not going in let alone who’s actually there.
If that’s the case, the app needs to be where it geo-locates cellphone’s, keeps the people who are actually there, in route or close by.
Who’s not to say that someone could be across the country, signing into that Flying J for a shower to clog the system up.

The shower is key to the longevity of a long distance truck driver.the lunch break shower kept me awake and going plenty of times.you would be surprised.it just might save your life and others from a accident.

Not a driver but used truck stops for gas on road trip from Florida to MA and heard them announcing that shower was ready for #92 or similar at one place. So I think it’s more like the ticket numbers at deli counter vs place in line.

I normally showered when I got up at midnight. Then fueled and took off. But I often had a 1 gallon garden sprayer.with hot water, a large tote and shower curtain. That way I only had to go to truck stops to fuel. That's it. I had several ways to cook really good meals with disposable cookware. Even had a microwave. Once a week I would treat myself with a dinner someplace. Usually I had it planned out to be one of my favorite spots.

I went something like 10 days without an actual shower , I was busy with loads and when I did stop to get a shower, there was too long of a wait, or the showers weren't working. I managed to keep it clean and fresh. A couple of nights I ended up parked out in the middle of nowhere and washed my hair with a couple bottles of water.
Now for waiting in an actual line??
2.5 hrs ( but I was on either my 10 hr break or 34)

Yeah that had to be a glitch , and yup I would have gone inside and asked someone about it, I used to do Pilot/flying J, Loves was my second choice, but that has changed, now I avoid the Pilots, and go more for the Loves, from the ones I have been to they are on the showers cleaning them.. and the longest I have had to wait is maybe an hour..

They have been doing that in order to close the showers down due to them being short handed. They will shut down showers and kitchen if they don't have the personel to cover the store.

Seems like every time we pull in a truck stop, something is broken - plumbing, hot water, showers, food/drink dispensers. Was taking a shower at pilot and the whole light fixture fell off the wall and the emergency lighting failed to come on. Finished up using light from my phone. Plus they’re charging top-dollar for everything and they’re filthy dirty.

Just an FYI. Some motels next to truck stops will sell showers. There is a pilot in AZ on 17 that doesn't offer showers. the motel sold me one for $9

I once waited from 8pm till 11 am the next morning I slept over night and Still couldn’t get a shower, I couldn’t wait anymore, time is money, so I ended up taking a load and showering the next night at another location, to be fair, I was in Laredo TX, which is always very busy for showers.

Out door shower with a little privacy would be fine for people like me specially during summer time. because I usually run before I take shower, I got everything just need water. I don't need to be confined in that little room. This is just my thought to add more showers.

Its highly a glitch. I was at the pilot in Oakland, Oregon off rice road i believe and i booked a shower on the app and i was 88th guest in line i said wtf. I walked in and talked to an employee and she said there is no wait its the app glitching out. Always double check drivers.

The TA Denver used to be terrible about wait times. Over 4 hours and still hadn't been called...gave up on it. That was years ago when you had the shower credit on the corner of the fuel receipt.

Lots of truck stops have people working for them that have NO business being there. They are mean and don’t like cleaning showers after EVERY shower a driver takes. I’ve seen it. It’s hard for them to find enough good people to do it. You lose a little dignity cleaning showers ALL the time. Simply saying your 94th in line is designed for the driver to get mad and leave without a shower. What he should’ve done is say ok I’ll wait. That would’ve forced them to clean at least ONE shower. I’ve seen enough pilots treat drivers bad. Flying J, before pilot bought them were hands down the best at hiring quality people that seemed happy with their job. Petro and TA were a close 2nd. I would pay more for fuel before I would stop at Pilot. Pilot ruined Flying J.

LONGEST IN THE COUNTRY IS Flying J in Laredo!!! It's not even close! I have been there before when there's a 3,4,5 hour wait for showers and they are on shower 250 or more by 3pm, and seeing that it resets at midnight that is a hell of a lot of showers between midnight and 3:00 p.m.!

I think I was just there at that truck stop, there remodeling the inside, and the shower area. But alot of truckers don't go in and they go on the app and ask for a shower not knowing there remodeling the showers. So everybody's waiting, because no one can get a shower

Alex I believe you have been in the business long enough to know. That the number 94 is probably what he was issued to know when his shower was ready. Not where he was in line. That's an easy one. He's probably the type of trucker to wake up late, get in late, and then wonder why there are showers ahead of you. Quit being a lazy ass who sleeps in, wake the hell up earlier, get your day done earlier, and then have your shower. It's not that freaking hard. Truckers today try to act like it's rocket science. You're driving a freaking truck, figure out where and when you can do things in a timely manner, I think they call it trip planning.

I found ways to wash myself and brush my teeth if I couldn't take an 🚿 shower, I didn't go too long without one, I used bottle water to brush my teeth or used the sink in an restroom I used them thick blue paper towels and bottle water and soap and everything else to wash myself with in the rig they have bath wipes too to wash with that comes in handy when u can't make it to an shower

ANYTHING is possible at Flying J. Many of the Flying J's have become hellholes. I would not be surprised to just see them go out of business. I have personally started just avoiding the truckstops who can't get their shit together. No excuse for it.
