1. Jayceon Terrell Taylor (born November 29, 1979 in Compton, California, United States), better known by his stage name Game, formerly known as The Game, is an American Grammy Award winning gangsta rapper signed to Aftermath Entertainment through his own label Black Wall Street Records, with which he founded with his half brother Big Fase 100. He rose to fame in 2005 with the success of his debut album, The Documentary, and his two Grammy nominations. Since then he has released several other critically acclaimed albums, 2006's Doctor's Advocate and 2008's LAX. The RED Album was released August 23, 2011. All of his four albums debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 100, and he is widely considered to be a driving force in bringing back the West Coast hip hop scene and competing with many of his East Coast counterparts.
Studying various influential rap albums, Game developed a strategy to become a rapper himself and with help from Big Fase, they founded The Black Wall Street Records. The label originally featured such artists as Glasses Malone, Vita, and Nu Jerzey Devil, along with Game himself. His stage name was coined by his grandmother. Game first gained prominence when he attended a hip-hop summit hosted by Russell Simmons and Louis Farrakhan, releasing his first mixtape You Know What It Is Vol. 1 in 2002, followed by a record deal with the independent label, Get Low Recordz owned by JT the Bigga Figga. Originally Sean Combs of Bad Boy Records was going to sign him to his label, but Game's mixtape found the attention of famed producer Dr. Dre, who signed him to Aftermath Entertainment in 2003. In October 2004, he released his first album Untold Story through Get Low Recordz, which sold over 82,000 copies within its first three months. The album featured artists like Sean T, Young Noble (of the Outlawz), and JT the Bigga Figga. Game also appeared on various mixtapes hosted by DJ's such as DJ Kayslay, DJ Whoo Kid, and DJ Clue. Game also released a second mixtape You Know What It Is Vol. 2 through his own record label and appeared on the video game NBA Live 2004 on a song produced by Fredwreck called "Can't Stop Me". On January 24th, 2011, he released a mixtape entitled, "Purp & Patron."

Cross On Jesus Back

They made him crawl 'til his knees was black
They put a cross on Jesus' back
They made him crawl 'til his knees was black
Super good
How many people endure that judgment?
The steeple is meant to usher the presence of Higher Power
And hours of heaven, lustful pleasures
A couple C cups and the essence enough to keep blood rushin'
I fuck with her heavy
I might jump in her belly
I might summon her friends just so we all function like Eddie
I treat it like an animal, plus the camera's on steady
Do my damage then go scramble leaf panties like levies
They gon' judge me no matter what I do, uh
So I keep my halo with a peace sign, give a fuck 'bout you, uh
When I recline, I'ma need a fee, never get enough, I knew
I barely even touched my food
We skipped the appetizers, I slid inside her
When I'm done, I'm like, "What the fuck I do?"
Now her head's on my sleeve, and my hand's on her weave
She wanna stay and parler and conversate over trees
But now I'm ready to leave
And I'm just wonderin' where my keys is at
They put a cross on Jesus' back
They made him crawl 'til his knees was black
They put a cross on Jesus' back
They made him crawl 'til his knees was black
One time 'bout to pull up
One time 'bout to pull up
Tell them niggas stop doin' pull-ups on the stop sign
Assembly line with this Glock 9
We don't toss that, tell her put in her purse
We live this real life shit then put it in a verse
Bitches frequently askin' me, "Do them bullets really hurt?"
Can't answer no questions unless you really from the turf
But I can put you on
See your curves from them curbs that I swerved up on
Legs so smooth, the type of thighs you sniff a bird up on
Fuck the Summer Walker, no many how many times we done heard that song
Daycare on your back, scoop them kids up with the shirt that's on
Back to the block where niggas stay active, no drama teachers
Just pour O.E. Out for our lost ones and stay elevated like Balenciaga sneakers
Inglewood to Compton, Space Jam's on, shot it out with monsters
13 to your back, Trispy Thomspon
K.g. I'm like the chopper had a conscious
Every nigga gotta watch how he movin'
Every picture got a nigga next to Judas
Every nigga got his own cross to bear
And that's the reason that they put a cross on Jesus' back
They made him crawl 'til his knees was black
They put a cross on Jesus' back
They made him crawl 'til his knees was black
This is Ye's Sunday service with killer and murders
Must have heard us comin', don't let them niggas in the church with us
This is Ye's Sunday service with killer and murders
Must have heard us comin', don't let them niggas in the church with us
The lyrics to “Cross On Jesus Back” by The Game and D Smoke explore themes of judgment, hypocrisy, and the burdens that people carry. The opening lines describe the cruel treatment that Jesus received at the hands of his persecutors, who forced him to crawl with a cross on his back. This is juxtaposed with the image of a church steeple meant to usher in the presence of a higher power, but the reverend is more focused on his lustful pleasures with women. The lyrics also touch on the pressure to conform to society’s expectations and the constant judgment that individuals face, which is expressed through the singer's decision to keep his halo with a peace sign regardless of what others think.
The second verse shifts to a more violent and aggressive tone, with references to guns and street life. The singer boasts about his street credibility and how he lives the “real life”. The lyrics also comment on the way that women are objectified and reduced to their physical attributes. The final lines of the song speak to the idea that everyone has their own cross to bear, and that the judgment and burdens people carry are often unique to them.
