Polard started playing guitar at age 12, then began performing in bands with his friends and writing music in his spare time.

Unable to gain deal with a record label, he self-published his eponymous debut album in May 2010. His second album, wet wood, was released in 2012 (also self-published).

His third full-length album, "Heaven Help Us" was released on May 11th 2016.
