1. The Jets are a family band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, composed of brothers and sisters who specialize in pop, R&B, and dance music, particularly Latin freestyle.
The group officially formed in 1985, with the original lineup fizzling out by 1990. Several members of the family stayed on throughout the 1990s, unofficially reviving the group in the mid to late 1990s as a gospel outfit with most of the original members present.
Various record companies have released collections of songs from the group's popular period, while the modern incarnation of the group continues to perform at various small venues, primarily casinos and private corporate functions.
2. The Jets formed in Utrecht, Netherlands in 1958 as The Rocking Explosives and debuted on stage in 1960. Their instrumental guitarmusic sounded similar to The Shadows. They renamed the band to The Jets in 1963. The group had a big hit in Japan with an instrumental version of 'Goldfinger' under the name The Goldfingers (due to another band in Japan called The Jets). In 1966 The Jets were aiming for succes in England and recorded the single The Pied Piper, a later hit in the version by Crispian St. Peters. The Jets reformed in 1982 and still performs today.
3. Great pop has not been as prominent this decade as in the last but songwritters Graham and Mick are helping to remedy that. It's obvious they share the thoughts and dreams of John, Paul, The Hollies and Dave Clark. Both cuts are previously released as a single, TTR 7805.
Mick Isenburg - guitar, vocals
Graham Walker - guitar, vocals
Tom Walker - bass
Greg Wilson - drums

Come hell I'm your lover your man your friend your fair weather
It's a world stopped afternoon passion legs your wordless
All blue routes to your birth place chalk white wincing pretty in it
summer dress your hair's wet and gets into our kisses
Can you tell why my intentions always wind up near misses
There's a kindness in your smile but my sky plays fatal music
in the laze of a barefoot afternoon. what's a boy to do?
Sunday eyes, am I losing you? is the summer really through?
straps down and overtired if I had a favorite picture
I'd call it right now, uncertain, braced for your disaster
Summer gown were you sent down to wrestle me to reason
I'm a thrown fight in your favor I'll do everything but listen to you now
in the laze of an empty afternoon. it's all happening too soon.
Sunday eyes, am I losing you? say it isn't true.
in the summer you really know
That it doesn't feel like the summer so much anymore
But I keep trying to find you somewhere smiling
Over me over you over me
summer girl all summer long you know the winter's wrong
Southbound those motel towns can mend most broken mornings
There's citrus groves where no one knows the fruit of truth from evil
And a long walk on a short pier means nothing more than swimming here
there's an end but we don't get to choose. we can only lose.
If I cried a river just for you
Would you swim in it some sunny afternoon?
in the summer you'll really know
You're the only summer that I think I'll ever know
So I'll keep trying to find you somewhere smiling
Over me over you over me
The Jetsβs song βWhen Youβre Young and in Loveβ is a nostalgic ballad about the fleeting nature of summer love. Each verse explores the wistful memories of a summer romance and the bittersweet longing for those moments to return. The song is filled with vivid imagery and sensory details, as the singer recalls the carefree afternoons spent in the sun with their lover.
The opening lines, βIn the tall grass of a long sun / A quiet repast and Iβm sweet nothings,β set the scene for a lazy summer day filled with whispered conversations and stolen kisses. The singer is clearly enamored with their partner, referring to them as their βlover,β βman,β βfriend,β and βfair weather.β However, there is a hint of uncertainty as the singer wonders whether their intentions will end in βnear misses.β
As the song progresses, the singer reflects on the passing of time and the inevitability of change. The βsummer girlβ they once knew is now βovertiredβ and the βsummer really [doesnβt] feel like the summer so much anymore.β Despite this, the singer remains hopeful that they will find their lover βsomewhere smiling / over me over you over me.β
Overall, the Jets have crafted a poignant ode to summer love and the universal experience of growing up and moving on.
