So this particular song was the last song on a CD I had growing up (The Chillout Sessions 9 - this was on Disc One), which we got back in 2006. I remembered every word to the first like ten songs, but we hardly listened beyond that so I never made it to the 20th song.
When I started playing Minecraft on my Xbox 360 in 2012, instead of listening to Minecraft’s music I would play the music I’d burnt to my console.
Over time my Xbox died but at some point in 2018 I picked Minecraft up for Switch, and my girlfriend & I started up a new world. I turned the music off & played music on my phone, because it was nostalgic for me, but because I had to do it on YouTube I decided I wanted to mix it up a bit because I realised I’d been listening to the same music for like six years.
Out of nowhere, YouTube had suggested one of the songs from The Chillout Sessions & I decided “Fuck it, let’s make a playlist of those songs, and introduce her to some of the other stuff I used to listen to”. After time we got to this song, the final song on the CD. I’d never heard it (at least from memory) but I immediately feel in love with it.
I kinda forgot where I was going with this at some point, but yeah go check out The Chillout Sessions 9 if you’ve not heard of it before. There’s some really decent stuff on it, and even some songs you might’ve heard before.
