The Kooks formed at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music, where they were all students. Lead singer and rhythm guitarist Luke Pritchard, got bassist Max Rafferty involved in a college project, which formed the base of the band. After getting lead guitarist Hugh Harris and drummer Paul Garred involved, they took their name from the song Kooks on the 1971 David Bowie album Hunky Dory. When they tried to trademark the name, they found that in the late/mid 1990s a Swedish band by the same name released an album in Sweden called Too Much is Not Enough.
The Kooks released a debut EP and played gigs around Brighton, where they were based at the time. They were signed to Virgin Records.
2. Swedish indie rock/alternative band - It consisted of members Henrik Berglund, Leo Dahlin, Michael Lohse and Josef Zackrisson, and was active between 1998 and the early 2000's. Micke Lohse and Henrik Berglund are currently members of the band Atomic Swing.

I can take her anywhere,
Do whatever comes naturally to you,
You know she just don't care
You know she just don't care
'Cause I'm always where I need to be
Yeah, and I always thought I would end up
Do dodo do do do do
Do dodo do do do do
Do dodo do do
Now I see her again,
I ask to be her hummingbird,
Whisper words in her ear,
Oh now you know I just don't care,
'Cause I'm always where I,
Where I need to be
And I always thought
I would end up with you eventually
Do dodo do do do do
Do dodo do do do do
Do dodo do do
I'm a man, I'm a man I'm a man on the scene,
I'm a man, and I can be so obscene
Because I always think that I know how to be,
But I always thought that I would end up with you, eventually,
Do dodo do do do do
Do dodo do do do do
Do dodo do do
I'm a man, I'm a man I'm a man on the scene,
I'm a man, and I can be so obscene.
In The Kooks' song "Always Where I Need to Be," the singer observes a woman who doesn't know who she is and can be taken anywhere. He tells her to do whatever comes naturally, but she just doesn't care. The singer then claims that he always thought he would end up with her eventually and that he is always where he needs to be.
The song captures a feeling that is both whimsical and poignant. The singer longs for a connection with the woman, but he seems to accept that it may never happen. He sees her as something of a wild spirit who is both untouchable and desirable. In the chorus, he repeats the phrase "always where I need to be," which suggests that he may be content with his current situation, even if he isn't with the woman he desires.
The line "I'm a man, I'm a man, I'm a man on the scene" seems to speak to the singer's self-confidence and perhaps his sense of entitlement. He believes that he knows how to be and assumes that he will end up with the woman he desires. Despite this, there's a vulnerability to the song that suggests that the singer is trying to make sense of a confusing world.

Lyrics:
Some people think they're always right
Others are quiet and uptight
Others, they seem so very nice-nice-nice-nice, oh
Inside they might feel sad and wrong, oh, no
Twenty-nine different attributes
Only seven that you like, oh-oh
Twenty ways to see the world, oh
And twenty ways to start a fight, oh
Oh don't, don't, don't get up
I can't see the sunshine
I'll be waiting for you, baby
'Cause I'm through
Sit me down
Shut me up
I'll calm down
And I'll get along with you
Oh, men don't notice what they got
Oh, women think of that a lot
One thousand ways to please your man, oh
Not even one requires a plan, I know
And countless odd religions too
It doesn't matter which you choose, oh, no
One stubborn way to turn your back, oh
This I've tried and now refuse, oh
Oh don't, don't, don't get up
I can't see the sunshine
Oh, I'll be waiting for you, baby
'Cause I'm through
Sit me down
Shut me up
I'll calm down
And I'll get along with you
Alright
Shut me up, shut me up
And I'll get along with you

"People tell us all the time we're gonna die from smoking, but you only live once."
“La gente nos dice todo el tiempo que moriremos por fumar mucho, pero ni modo, tú sólo vives una vez”.
