Lighthouse Spaceship
The Lickerish Quartet Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The way you want to see
For everyone′s own movie's
Through an altered lens
Be me
And I′ll be you and if we do
We can begin to understand
The thorns that wounded us
Retune the fork and sweetly let it resonate
Resume
A loving feeling
Free the past at last, it's what we need today
If distress you're feeling
Overhead clouds loom
From a lighthouse spaceship
I′ll send a beacon out to you
If the stormy weather′s
Loosened up your screws
From my lighthouse spaceship
I'll find a way to you
Breathe slow
For soon the tide will turn
And calmer seas will sail us straight for Saturdays
Hold on
You mustn′t leave the bridge
Abandon ship and sink beneath the waves
If distress you're feeling
Three dots dashes you
In a lighthouse spaceship
I′ll bring you in from the typhoon
Copy the day signal
And keep your bearings true
In my lighthouse spaceship
Yes, I'll find a way to you (find a way to you)
I′ll come to rescue you (come to rescue you)
(You, you, you)
When the seas rise you must ride it
With the anchors high and forward bows away
On the starboard side my heart's lighted
From the Cape Race, honey, to Makapu'u, Hawaii
Hold on, hold on
You mustn′t leave the bridge
Abanadon ship and sink beneath the waves
Waves
If distress you′re feeling
Overhead clouds loom
From a lighthouse spaceship
I'll send a beacon out to you
If the stormy weather′s
Loosened up your screws
In a lighthouse spaceship
I'll find a way to you
If distress you′re feeling
Three dots dashes you
In a lighthouse spaceship
I'll bring you in from the typhoon
Copy the day signal
And keep your bearings true
In my lighthouse spaceship
Gonna find a way to you
To you
If distress you′re feeling
Overhead clouds loom
From a lighthouse spaceship
I'll send a beacon out to you
If the stormy weather's
Loosened up your screws
In my lighthouse spaceship
Yes, I′ll find a way, I′ll find a way to you
Everybody, everybody come to the lighthouse spaceship
Everybody come to the lighthouse spaceship
Everyone, love is the answer
Love is the question, love is the reason
Love never-ending
Come to the lighthouse spaceship
Everybody come to the lighthouse spaceship, everyone
The lyrics of The Lickerish Quartet's song Lighthouse Spaceship talk about the importance of empathy and the need for human understanding. The first verse invites people to see one another beyond their personal biases and perspectives. Trying to put oneself in another person's shoes can lead to a comprehension of their feelings and experiences. The second verse uses the metaphor of a ship in a storm to encourage people to hold on, stay at the helm, and not give up when things get difficult. The chorus talks about finding and sending a beacon to help others who are experiencing distress, be it from a storm or from inner struggles.
The bridge of the song talks about riding the waves of hardship, as well as staying true to oneself by keeping a steady direction no matter what. The last part of the song is an invitation to everyone to come together and find unity in love. The lighthouse spaceship represents a place of safety and comfort, but also the possibility of a new destination.
Overall, the song seems to talk about the importance of listening and connecting with people, as well as riding the ups and downs of life with hope and love. It is a message of support and encouragement, both for the listener and for the band themselves.

I'm actually going to cry, my dad introduced me to Jellyfish a few years ago and I got obsessively into their songs. After going through every main album, demo album, live album I could get my hands on, I just assumed I'd never really have more songs like it. I listened to TV eyes, which is a great album, but even that was just one album. I just accepted that there'd probably never be any more. I can't believe that some of the members of one of my favorite bands of all time have come together to make more music. Hearing this is genuinely making me tear up, I just... can't express how happy I am to hear them again.

This is so epic. I had no idea this project happened until a buddy of mine told me about it.
Bummed to hear it was a short lived project. Kudos to you guys for giving me some great new music to listen to!!!
@setshootstrike6147
Who else listened to this the first time and alternated between jaw dropping happiness, smiling, singing along, repeat?
@AztecScotland
I've waited nigh on 25 years to hear these guys make music together again. AMAZING. THANK YOU! MORE PLEASE!!!

@Andrew Davidson may even make it sound more joyous...

Power Pop Perfection. Like someone took the Beatles, ELO, and Queen, mixed them in a blender and sprinkled some ELP over the top and baked it in a psychedelic oven. I'm in heaven.
