1- The Lovers are a French electronica/ Neo Burlesque band based in Sheffield, England, consisting of real-life lovers Fred de Fred and Marion Benoist. Their music is usually upbeat, satirising French stereotypes, with special fondness for songs about food and sex.
The couple started working on music after a chance meeting with Jarvis Cocker, who wrote them the songs 'La Degustation', 'Fred de Fred' and 'Basque Country'. These songs feature on their self-titled debut album, "The Lovers", which was co-produced by Dean Honer and Parrot of All Seeing I, Kevin Bacon and Jon Quarmby (Finley Quaye, Pretenders etc...), Leigh Devlin and Robin Downe.
The Lovers have been at the forefront of the 'Neo Burlesque'/'Gypsy Madness' mouvement, often playing with 'Lost Vagueness'.
They have collaborated in the past with Richard Hawley, Kings Have Long Arms frontman Adrian Flanagan, Afterflife, Budnubac, they also formed part of I Monster's live show.
In previous work, Fred worked for Sheffield studio FON.
Marion is a former bunny girl, who has worked with producers such as Nellee Hooper, and wrote the song 'Wonderland', which took Moloko's Róisín Murphy to number two in the dance charts.
Their music has attracted a rapidly growing audience, reaching from the duo’s adopted home of Sheffield to all over the UK, The Netherlands, Germany and Singapore.Their recordings have graced TV adverts ('La Le', used on TV advert for McDonalds; 'Crik Crak', on a number of others (Robinsons Fruit Juice etc...); 'French Kiss', on the soundtrack of BBC TV series 'Sugar Rush' ) and are even being used as a grammatical teaching tool by Linguascope and the French Board of Education.
Their 2nd album “Pardon My French was produced and mixed in Austin Texas by Gabe Rhodes (Beth Nielsen Chapman, Willie Nelson, Kimmie Rhodes, Billy Joe Shaver etc. … ) and Joe Gracey (Steve Ray Van, Ray Campi, Butch Hancock, Joe King Carrasco, Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys etc...)
They are accompanied on stage by guitar player Bryan Day (Carmen Ghia and The Hotrods, Tony Christie) and drummer Marc Hoad (Pink Grease).
2 - The Lovers is a German eurodance act produced and arranged by David Brandes, John O'Flynn
Daniel Peyer, David Brandes, Helmut Rüßmann. They recorded the hit "Love Me To The Limit".
3 - The Lovers (DE)
Formed in Winter 2007 and playing together since April 2008.
Toby and Flori started the band cause theres no exciting band in berlin(except for the fuzztones maybe)....
They found their guitar player johnny while he was hangin around and asking people for beer money...
Flori met their organ player Ari while they were both ditching school...and their drummer is an old friend of them.
The Lovers members come from a quite diverse musical background (punk, garage, 60s, surf, electro) but their main influence is good old 60s garage sound.....
They are planning on bringing out their first single later this year....like in december or something!

Boxer
The Lovers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics to The Lovers' song "Boxer" expresses the confusion, frustration, and uncertainty of a romantic relationship that has gone awry. The singer is uncertain of where they stand with their significant other, not knowing if they are still together or if they have gone their separate ways. The repeated chorus of "Boxer, don't knock me down. Writer, don't write me out. Stranger, let's not stay estranged. Lover, are we going separate ways? And don't I get a say? Hey, hey, hey" is a plea to their partner to not push them away or decide their fate without their input, suggesting that they want to have a say in the matter and potentially salvage the relationship.
The singer also expresses feelings of guilt or regret for actions that may have contributed to the deterioration of the relationship. They question if they were the ones to hurt their partner or if they were the victim. The lyric "I was a dagger but in whose heart? I was the dirt beneath whose wheel?" suggests that they may have caused pain for their partner, but they are unsure of who was ultimately in the wrong.
Despite the uncertainty and turmoil in the relationship, the singer ends the song with a note of hope, stating that they are thinking of their partner in a new way. This implies that they are willing to work on the relationship and find a way forward together.
