I have heard The Collins Kids from the 1950s, I have heard them performing again in the 21st Century. But I never heard them from the 60s before. Larry's voice has changed A LOT.

rbraxley--- Lorrie Collins was on the Ozzie and Harriet Show fell in love with RIcky--- was going to marry him -- Ricky deeply loved her... - but Ozzie objected...anger-- maybe a abortion?-- but she left and eloped with a man twice her age.. John Cashs manager.. Stu Carnall-- even Ricky Nelson was shocked.. and deeply hurt... but such a scandal would ruin the Ozzie and Harriet Show>>> later on Ricky said -- Lorrie was the only woman he ever loved and so did she say that about Ricky...

just can't get enough of these kids, this sounds like his voice was starting to change, or had changed, his sister used to be lower than his. sure wished i had discovered them earlier

Had thought the Collins Kids stopped performing when Larry was still a boy since Lorrie wanted to quit to pursue marriage. Very nice to see them performing again here, hopefully they continued to do so after starting up again.

@Robert Muldoon It seems that in the entertainment business talent isn't the only thing that one needs two become a big star. The Collins Kids were very well known when they were young, but for some reason they didn't become a household name. They definitely had everything! People will always enjoy their recordings and the footage that we have of them. They were a one of a kind brother-- sister act. I just wish that I was able to see them. I was devastated when I heard that Lorrie died. Younger generations will keep finding out about them and the music will live on.

@Robert Muldoon I am not sure if they played on The Ed Sullivan Show. It wouldn't surprise me though as from 55 -- 59 they were on many large TV shows and played all over America.

Were the Collins Kids ever on the Ed Sullivan Show? Can't find them if I search for such. That show would have given them more of the exposure that they deserved. Knowing how the Beatles loved American Rock 'n' Roll, they would have also loved the Collins Kids!

@sean curran -Now electric Blues & Rockabilly does rock. Country music over the last few years pretty much owes it's success to borrowing rock elements. Because by itself Country music would be just too rural & folky, with limited audiences.
