On my island home I spent some time with you

Like the moon, my chest was full
Similar to the moon, my heart felt brimming and complete

Because we both knew we're just floating in space
For we were aware that we are but drifting entities in the vastness of the cosmos

Over molten rock, and we felt safe and discovered that our skin is soft
Hovering above molten stones, we found comfort and realized the tenderness of our own skin

There's nothing left except certain death
Apart from an inevitable demise, all else has been depleted

And that was comforting at night out under the moon
And strangely, this fact brought solace during the moonlit nights

I went out last night to forget that
Just the previous night, I ventured out to erase that memory

I went out and stared it down
I stepped outside and confronted it directly

But the moon just stared back at me
However, the moon merely returned my gaze

And in its light I saw my two feet on the ground
Under its illumination, I caught sight of my two feet firmly planted on the earth
