Mighty Diamonds are a Jamaican trio who had major success during the 70's at the 'Channel One' studio and record label at Maxfield Avenue, Jamaica.
Despite their heyday at Channel One, the trio continued to produce sublime work in later years, notably for 'Gussie Clarke' with the classic 'Pass The Kouchie' which rode an updated cut of an old Studio One instrumental called 'Full Up'. The tune was also covered by the English group 'Musical Youth' but was known as 'Pass The Dutchie'.

And i cannot get no sleep
Now my pillow is soaken wet
With tears
Since you and i have been apart oh yeah
Why must i drown myself in sorrow
But they dont really know
This pain in my heart oh yeah
Fools rush in where angels fear to go
Fools rush in where wise men never go
Fools rush in where angels fear to go
Fools rush in where wise men never go
Days gets so hard and rough
And my work gets so hard yeah
And my sweat just falls to the ground
And soak the earth below oh yeah
Fools rush in where angels fear to go
Fools rush in where wise men never go
Fools rush in where angels fear to go
Fools rush in where wise men never go
Days gets so hard and rough
And my work gets so hard yeah
And my sweat just falls to the ground
And soak the earth below oh yeah
Fools rush in where angels fear to go
Fools rush in where wise men never go
Fools rush in where angels fear to go
Fools rush in where wise men never go
In The Mighty Diamonds' song "Fools Rush In," the lyrics describe the pain that comes with a broken relationship, the loneliness that ensues, the hardship of daily tasks, and the frustration of watching people live in sin. The lines "Nights get long and lonely, And I cannot get no sleep, Now my pillow is soaken wet with tears" illustrate the pain and sadness that the singer is feeling as a result of the breakup. Despite the pain, the singer cannot help but wonder why they must "drown" in sorrow.
The repetition of "fools rush in where angels fear to go" throughout the song is a cautionary tale about the dangers of impulsive decision-making in relationships. The lyrics suggest that it is unwise to rush into a relationship without thought, as evidenced by the line "Fools rush in where wise men never go." The song also critiques society's sins, which the singer sees as evidence that people are not acting wisely.
The song's repetition of the phrase "oh yeah" emphasizes the singer's pain, desperation, and frustration. The song's melancholy melody and slow rhythm add to the emotional impact of the lyrics, highlighting the singer's feelings of loneliness and sorrow. Overall, "Fools Rush In" is a poignant commentary on the dangers of acting impulsively, both in relationships and in life in general.
