Mighty Diamonds are a Jamaican trio who had major success during the 70's at the 'Channel One' studio and record label at Maxfield Avenue, Jamaica.
Despite their heyday at Channel One, the trio continued to produce sublime work in later years, notably for 'Gussie Clarke' with the classic 'Pass The Kouchie' which rode an updated cut of an old Studio One instrumental called 'Full Up'. The tune was also covered by the English group 'Musical Youth' but was known as 'Pass The Dutchie'.

I declare all black man
Oneness we a deal wid on ya
Leaders of black countries, can′t we have a talk?
Leaders of black countries, can't we have a talk?
Forgetting who is boss
Forgetting xho is boss
We′ve got a lot of question
Can't find the right words to start
One thing I would like to know
What is your plan, for the ghetto, Oh yeah, oh yeah
Leaders of black countries, can't we have a talk?
Leaders of black countries, can′t we have a talk?
Forgetting who is boss
Forgetting who is boss
People have been suffering
Because of unemployment
People have been suffering
Because of crime and violence
You just can′t sit here and relax
That you fill the gaps
Leaders of black countries, can't we have a talk?
Leaders of black countries, can′t we have a talk?
Forgetting who is boss
Forgetting who is boss
We've got a lot of question
Can′t find the right words to start
One thing I would like to know
What is your plan, for the ghetto? Oh yeah, oh yeah
Leaders of black countries, can't we have a talk?
Leaders of black countries, can′t we have a talk?
Forgetting who is boss
Forgetting who is boss
Leaders of black countries, can't we have a talk?
Leaders of black countries, can't we have a talk?
Forgetting who is boss
Forgetting who is boss
The Mighty Diamond's song "Leaders of Black Country" is a plea for black leaders to come together and address pressing issues affecting the black community. The song starts with a declaration in the name of Jah, Rastafari and a call for black unity, "Oneness we a deal wid on ya". The main message of the song is directed towards the political leaders of black countries, who are being asked to come together and talk about their plans for addressing issues such as unemployment, crime, and violence.
The repeated phrase, "Forgetting who is boss", serves as a reminder to these leaders that they are in their positions to serve the people and not to elevate themselves above their constituents. The Mighty Diamonds plead with them to take action and fill the gaps in the community, instead of just sitting back and relaxing.
Throughout the song, there is a sense of urgency and frustration. The singer notes that they have a lot of questions but can't find the right words to start the conversation. They implore these leaders to prioritize the needs of the ghetto, and to work together to come up with a plan to improve the situation.
Overall, "Leaders of Black Country" is a powerful and thought-provoking song that highlights the need for black unity and leadership in addressing the challenges facing the community.
