Mighty Diamonds are a Jamaican trio who had major success during the 70's at the 'Channel One' studio and record label at Maxfield Avenue, Jamaica.
Despite their heyday at Channel One, the trio continued to produce sublime work in later years, notably for 'Gussie Clarke' with the classic 'Pass The Kouchie' which rode an updated cut of an old Studio One instrumental called 'Full Up'. The tune was also covered by the English group 'Musical Youth' but was known as 'Pass The Dutchie'.

Love love no fuss no fight
Love love come take me tonite
Love love no fuss no fight
Iβ²ve been all over the world I never found a love that's like this
When I was weak you make me strong
When I was down and out youβ²re the one who led me on
Love love come get me tonite
Love love come take me tonite
Love love no fuss no fight
While the grass is growing the asses are starving yeah
Coming into the parlour satisfied upto the fly
I will love you as years go by
Love love come get me tonite
Love love no fuss no fight
Love love come take me tonite
I've been all over the world I never found a love like this
When I was weak you make me strong
When I was down and out you're the one who helped me up
Love love come get me tonite
Love love no fuss no fight
Love love come take me tonite
Love love no fuss no fight
While the grass is growing asses are starving yeah
Coming into the parlour satisfied upto the fly
I will love you as years go by
Love love come get me tonite
Love love no fuss no fight
Love love come take me tonite
Love love no fuss no fight
The lyrics of The Mighty Diamonds' song Love Love Come Get Me Tonight talk about the desire for a love that is not complicated, fuss-free and without fighting. The song's opening line is an invitation for love to come and get the singer of the song, indicating a state of readiness to receive love. The lyrics suggest that the singer has traveled the world in search of love and never found a love like this. The love referred to in the song is one that has brought strength to the singer when they were weak and lifted them out of a state of being down and out.
The mention of the grass growing while the asses are starving is a metaphor that suggests that while there is abundance and growth on one hand, there is a disadvantage or lack in another area of life. It is an expression of the singer's understanding that life is not always fair and some may be hungry even amidst plenty. The final line of the song, "I will love you as years go by," could be interpreted as a promise of long-lasting and enduring love.
