You Know Like I Know
The Ozark Mountain Daredevils Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

To take a look and walk away
Isn't a stand, man
To speak the words that everyone's heard
Isn't the way, man

Everybody knows
All things must come and go but
You know like I know that
Everything's gonna be alright
People just come and go
They don't know what's right
Till they're gone

Your sun will rise and set today
Just don't you worry
And everything will come your way
Just don't you hurry

Take a little time
And find you some peace of mind then
You'll know like I know that
Everything's gonna be alright
People just come and go

They don't know what's right
Till they're gone

It's almost impossible to describe the beauty of this track--in its arrangement, its production and especially the lyrical content which is sang so sweetly. Singers like Rundgren/Fogelberg/etc/., must have really appreciated OMD's--what a great band, with one of the coolest names for a band in Rock n' Roll history!!

This is my favorite song of theirs. It is so very beautiful! I am from Springfield, Mo, their hometown. I was at their concert here in Springfield when they were recording their "It's Alive" album. I vividly remember them playing this song... It was gorgeous! I think that the recording of this song off of that album is the best version of this underrated song.

One of the special things about MusicMike is that he has the sensitivity and memory for fantastic tunes like this that time may have forgotten that did not necessarily race up the charts.
