It
The Partridge Family Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's you
It's you

Hello baby, yes it's me again and I'm
Looking for the rainbow's end
It's hidden in your mind

I'll tell you baby
I think I can bring you through
The answer lies within those lonely eyes of opal blue

[Chorus:]
It's you, it's you
I'll never find another love like you
It's you, I would die if you should leave me
Baby, baby, please believe me

And don't you cry
I'm here to dry your tears
And in awhile I'll make you smile again and see it's me

Hello baby, yes it's me again once more
I know that we can find the love that we once had before
I'll tell you baby I can't face another day
And before the sun goes down tonight I have to hear you say

[Chorus]

This song, The Partridge Family, & Mr David Cassidy take me back to a magical time when the world was full of promise, & anything was possible. I think that's what nostalgia is - a memory of a time in our lives when dreams had every opportunity of coming true, or already HAD. I wish for everyone a little "Partridge Family" in their lives.

@evanisovich

I wouldn’t mind being stuck in this era forever - a simpler time for sure.

@evanisovich Hi! Not to shy away from the realities of today, but like Mr. Bob Seger said, "Wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then...". Thanks for your comment

@Ravenscroft82

Perfectly put. These were times of what seemed like purity to me, very little conflict, just exploring and learning about life and really not having much responsibility (I was 7 at the time). And these cultural touchstones bring that feeling flooding back in wonderful waves. I miss this time and feeling very, very much.
