Blue Moon
The Percy Faith Strings Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Blue moon you saw me standing alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own
Blue moon, you knew just what I was there for
You heard me saying a prayer for
Someone I really could care for
And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will ever hold
I heard somebody whisper "Please adore me"
And when I looked, the moon had turned to gold!
Blue moon!
Now I'm no longer alone

Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

He feels lost and without purpose, until he sees the blue moon, which somehow understands his hardship. As he stands there, the singer prays for someone to love and care for. Listening to this music brings back memories of the old days when living with mom, dad and may two brothers. I remember my dad had a music player and he turned it on in the evening. My mom and myself sometimes stood on the balcony overlooking the quiet street, smelling the trees and summer breeze. I am 70 now, but everything is still fresh in my mind. Thanks so much fo the lovely music!

Listening to this beautiful Percy Faith music takes me back to the early 1970’s when I was young. Not all of us loved Rock and Roll or Casey Kasem’s weekly top 40 hits on his
weekly radio program. What we have here is real music; not yelling, shouting, or grunting, and appealing to rank sexuality. These sounds are romantic; and romance is as different from sex as oil is from water. Thank you for posting these magnificent songs. I am familiar with 85-90% of them. Oh to be 16 again! And oh to be in love!
