Into was released in 2001 and went double platinum in Finland debuting at #1. The first single F-F-F-Falling was #1 in Finland during three months in early 2001. The second single Chill reached the #2 place in Finland. The Rasmus toured Scandinavia and Europe along with HIM and Roxette that year to promote the album. The band finally gained international fame with their 2003 album Dead Letters which went gold and platinum in several countries, accompanied with the single In the Shadows which reached #1 in a number of countries. iTunes Music Store offered the track as one of its free singles, a positive public response prompted many listeners to buy the rest of the album. Guilty was released in 2004 and was the last single of the album. The three other singles; In My Life, First Day of My Life and Funeral Song also received mostly favourable reviews and response. During the 2004 Reading Festival in England, the band was pelted with plastic bottles filled with urine and mud (an act reserved for the worst band on the bill each year) until they eventually walked offstage when immediate medical attention was required for Eero's eye.

Live Forever
The Rasmus Lyrics

That knocked on my door?
Or was it the wind?
Was I still sleeping
Lost in a dream
Or was it you?
We swam in the fountains
We cried from the laughter
And died in each others' arms
Remember and live forever
Remember to live for love
I got back my letters
Ages ago
Your address unknown
I passed a stranger
Who had your eyes
Or was it you?
We ran through the graveyard
To catch the midnight sun
We danced drunk and naked
Until the summer was gone
Remember and live forever
Remember to live for love
Remember to live for love...
To live for love
The Rasmus's Live Forever is a song that explores the themes of love, loss, and timeless memories. The opening lines of the song set an enigmatic tone as there is a possibility of the character imagining or experiencing the presence of a supernatural entity. The mention of an angel creates a serene and heavenly atmosphere, inspiring the readers to believe in the power of divine intervention. The following questions raise the ambiguity surrounding the moment, making the character question their reality.
The second verse of the song is beautifully crafted, taking the readers to a journey of nostalgia. The mention of swimming in the fountains under the northern stars creates a whimsical and dreamy picture. The idea of laughter and dying in each other's arms presents the concept of living to the fullest and embracing every moment of happiness, even if it's ephemeral. The chorus is a reminder of cherishing the moments we have with those we love, making it an eternal memory that we can always cherish. The next verses extend the concept of memories and the possibility of holding onto them forever. The reference to getting back letters from an unknown address amplifies the feeling of longing, which is a recurring theme in love stories. The running through the graveyard to catch the midnight sun and dancing drunk and naked until the summer parts again, encapsulates the fleeting character of time and the importance of holding onto every moment we share.
In conclusion, The Rasmus's Live Forever is a song that inspires us to cherish the moments we have, with those we love. The enigmatic opening, nostalgic verses, and the exhilarating chorus make it a perfect song to capture the essence of love and timeless memories.
