Total War
The Retrosic Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hailing the last crusade
Solving the plans we've made
Deeming we are heaven sent
There is nothing to repent

Destroy the world to save it
Amerce who have to acquit
See what you are fighting for
This is total war

Marching through ashes of our own
Leaving a trace of ruins and bloody bones
We divide good from evil
Ignoring the dirt at our steeple

Stalking through a wasted land
This is our bitter end

Overall Meaning

The Retrosic's song "Total War" is a call to action to a final crusade, a justification for the plans that have been made, and an assurance that there is no need for repentance. The lyrics suggest that in order to save the world, it must first be destroyed, and those who do not conform or acquit will face punishment. The song speaks to the notion that war is necessary to create peace, even if it means leaving a trail of destruction behind.

The second verse speaks about the damage caused by war, with the line "Marching through ashes of our own, leaving a trace of ruins and bloody bones." However, the justification for this devastation is the supposed separation of good and evil. The dirt at the steeple (symbolizing religion) is ignored, implying that personal beliefs and motives are not valid reasons for questioning the righteousness of the cause.

The overall message of "Total War" is a commentary on the justifications for war and the human capacity for destruction in the pursuit of what is deemed to be the greater good. The lyrics suggest a disregard for the moral and ethical implications of war, and the song is a sobering reminder of the consequences of such actions.

@Darkclaw86 later, this three Genres where put together with a new modern form, the Hellelectro (also known as Aggrotech) in the collective neme Electro to delimitated from the technoscene. You see this is not so easy, because the modern electronic music, which is often called Industrial, has realy nothing or such minimal to do with the origin. Electro as genre term is much more precise.

@Darkclaw86 I see, and you have a point. But now-a-days most people just view Industrial (and Electro-Industrial) as an umbrella term. While I don't totally agree with this, I've accepted that it's a lot easier than creating hundreds of sub-genres, as electronic music is very diverse.
