1. The Rhythm Method are a British indie pop duo formed in a Thameside squat, comprising lyricist/vocalist Joey Bradbury and songwriter/top-liner Rowan Martin. Their music was a series of iPhone demos, then a Soundcloud page, then a band, then a live show - and then the proper releases came: a steady stream of singles since 2016, plus an actual album, How Would You Know I Was Lonely? (2019).
2. The Rhythm Method was was an obscure post-punk outfit from New York who put out the 'Alligators Have Fun' 7-inch in 1979. Both tracks on that release are also featured on the DIY compilation, 'Atomic Shockwaves, Vol. 12'.

Imagine it's summer.
You're with your mates having a drink, you've already had a few,
and you're walking to the next pub. It's one of those days - one of the memorable ones.
You're feeling great, amazing in fact.
As you enter, you bump into even more of your mates who just happen to be there.
You've walked into a party you weren't expecting:
The bartenders are giving out drinks for free.
Strangers seem to be mates.
Everyone's laughing... you don't know even know why.
You look around at everyone, and start laughing too.
Over the hum of the noise you see a band playing on a make-shift stage in the corner.
It's a couple of awkward blokes singing what looks to be karaoke to a song you've never heard.
The tune sounds like a poorly-mixed backing track from some long and forgotten game-show.
It's blasting from machine that's been in the pub since at least the early 80s.
You can't tell if it's a joke or not, but it's light-hearted and clever,
and everyone's happy and dancing along.
So you shuffle over the thick pub carpet, pint in hand,
stupid grin on your face now, mates all around.
And you start to dance.
That's this. Album of the year coming up.
