Good Golly Miss Molly
The Rock And Rollers Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Good golly Miss Molly, sure like to ball.
Good golly, Miss Molly, sure like to ball.
When you're rockin' and a rollin' can't hear your momma call.

Good golly Miss Molly, sure like to ball.
Good golly, Miss Molly, sure like to ball.
When you're rockin' and a rollin' can't hear your momma call.
From the early, early mornin' till the early, early night
You can see miss Molly rockin' at the house of blue light.
Good golly, miss Molly, sure like to ball.
When you're rockin' and a rollin' can't hear your momma call.

I am going to the corner, gonna buy a diamond ring.
When she hugs me and kiss me make me ting-a-ling-a-ling
Good golly, Miss Molly, sure like to ball.
When you're rockin' and a rollin' can't hear your momma call.

Good golly Miss Molly, sure like to ball.

Good golly, Miss Molly, sure like to ball.
When you're rockin' and a rollin' can't hear your momma call.

Overall Meaning

The song "Good Golly Miss Molly" by The Rock and Rollers is an upbeat, fun-filled classic rock and roll song celebrating the joys of partying and dancing. The lyrics of the song convey the uncontainable wildness, energy, and enthusiasm of a young couple, specifically Miss Molly, enjoying the party atmosphere to the fullest. The singer repeatedly praises her love for dancing and having a good time with the call, "Good golly, miss Molly, sure like to ball! When you're rockin' and a rollin' can't hear your momma call."

The phrase "ball" was a popular term used to describe a wild and exciting party, especially during the 1950s and early 1960s, which was when rock and roll was at its peak. Miss Molly is depicted as a lively, unstoppable person who loves to "rock and roll" all day and night without any interference from their parents. In a year of loss for this nation, we lost an irreplaceable national treasure

Little Richard, passed away.

I was listening to him just last week-end because I needed a jolt of joy in an otherwise terrible week.

And he didn't disappoint.

A brilliant and innovative musician and an amazing showman.

He will never rest in peace as he had way too much fun rocking out.

And doing it in mascara, eyeline and style.

He will be missed.
Rock in Peace Little Richard

Best rock n roll song ever recorded. The intro is pure excitement and then the verses and hooks carry you off to the abyss. His vocals overwhelm you. His scream before the sax/piano solo is like total chaos. The beat, progression and melody of the song puts you in a trance like state.

This is picture perfect rock n roll music.

@quarkchild
