We're hiding behind skin that's too tough
How come we don't say I love you enough
Till it's too late, it's not too late
Our hearts are hungry for a food that won't come
We could make a feast from these crumbs
And we're all staring down the barrel of a gun
What would you wish you would've done
Yeah, gotta start
Lookin' at the hand of the time we've been given here
This is all we got and we gotta start thinkin'
If every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
Gotta live like we're dying
Yeah, we got 86400 seconds in a day
To turn it all around or throw it all away
We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
While we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying
And if your plane fell out of the skies
Who would you call with your last goodbyes
Should be so careful who we let fall out of our lives
So when we long for absolution
There'll be no one on the line
Yeah, gotta start
Lookin' at the hand of the time we've been given here
This is all we got and we gotta start thinkin' if
Every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
Gotta live like we're dying
We only got 86400 seconds in a day
To turn it all around or throw it all away
We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
While we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying
Like we're dying, oh
Like we're dying
Like we're dying, oh
Like we're dying
We only got 86400 seconds in a day
To turn it all around or throw it all away
We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
While we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying
You never know a good thing till it's gone
You never see a crash until it's head on
All these people right when we're dead wrong
You never know a good thing till it's gone
Yeah, gotta start
Lookin' at the hand of the time we've been given here
This is all we got and we gotta start thinkin' if
Every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
Gotta live like we're dying
We only got 86400 seconds in a day
To turn it all around or throw it all away
We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
While we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying
Like we're dying, oh
Like we're dying
Like we're dying, oh
Like we're dying
We only got 86400 seconds in a day
To turn it all around or throw it all away
We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
While we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying
Live like we're dying
The song "Live Like We're Dying" by The Script is a reminder to appreciate the time we have and to make the most of our lives. The lyrics explore the common themes of regret and missed opportunities, highlighting the fact that we often take the people and experiences in our lives for granted. The opening verse describes how some people become weighed down by life's challenges and fail to express their emotions, including love, until it is too late. The song then discusses the idea of living life to the fullest, embracing every moment and facing the challenges head on. The chorus urges listeners to take a proactive approach to their lives, acknowledging the preciousness of time and the need to tell others how much we care about them.
The second verse expands on this theme, pointing out that we often hold back and don't live life to the full. The mention of being "staring down the barrel of a gun" is a metaphor for the way that we can feel trapped or helpless in our lives. The chorus returns with its urgent message to live like there is no tomorrow, and the bridge raises the stakes even further by suggesting that we should imagine what it would be like if tragedy struck us suddenly. This is meant to inspire us to express our feelings and cherish those who are important to us. The song ends on a positive note, encouraging us to use every second we have wisely and to feel empowered to make changes in our lives.

never seen a band nowadays writing songs with deep lyrics, nice rhymes and choice of words, like this band.. that's why the name "The Script" is absolutely a good choice of word, too, to represent this great band.
