@@hyrumlinville2683 i dont personally have any parental experience, but id like to think that the fact that you are worrying over whether you are good enough for your child already means that youre exactly where you should be as a parent. you care for them and want to be your best self for them, and thats the most important, even the only mattering, factor for a parent to be considered "good". even so, not every parent is perfect. mishaps and misunderstandings will happen, but youll get through them because youre family. caring familial bonds are ones that are near impossible to break.
as for your father, im sorry you had to live in that type of reality while dreaming. loss can be a hard subject. one thing i do when i have a bad dream is, instead of trying to forget it which will only worsen the impact of the dream, try to think about the dream and realize what it was. just a dream. your father is still here, you are still here, all is well in the world. and while there is always inevibility, that inevibility also invites the chance of time. the time you have on earth, the time you have with family. id say dont worry way too much about showing them your love and your want to be with them during the time we have on earth because im sure it shines out to them either way. and im sure your father is happy and proud to have such a caring, attentive child (not like actual child, im assuming youre an adult haha) worrying after them.
im glad youre tough and that this dream didnt get you down as much as it could have and instead is being used as fuel for a better life. keep going, buddy!
and the future? it doesnt exist right now. anything and nothing could happen in all honesty. and not being where you want to be in life in terrifying, i whole heartedly agree. but thats what the present is for. its for you to always move forward towards the life you desire and deserve. but by no means are you required to always made large steps. the most important step you could ever take is the one going forward. keep striving and you'll be where you need to be. all will be well in the end.
i dont know if you needed or even wanted this very long comment in reply to yours, but i just wanted you to know how much care, love, and wisdom your message shows off in your character. a person like you who puts others before themselves deserves to be recognized as someone who deserves just as much attenion and reminders on how amazing youre doing in this crazy thing we call life. keep going because, truly, i believe in you.
