After several months gigging around their hometown, the band began playing clubs and pubs around Ireland, playing sets mixing original material with rhythm and blues covers. Their set of fast-paced, gritty, garage rock "speed blues", which mixed the powerful approach of Dr. Feelgood with the intense rave-up format of The Yardbirds, quickly became well received by crowds across Ireland and their reputation as a live act grew.
After their North America tour they persued film acting and ultimately on 14 November 2018 the band announced they were splitting up.

You try to explain, but you ain't got time to think
You know he's bad news, but you take a glance,
His headlines say, you're on the right page for romance.
And you just fall, yeah you fall for them eyes,
Yeah you fall, you fall for Angel Eyes.
He drives you crazy, don't touch brakes,
You try to speed up, but he overtakes.
You move so quickly, so you miss the signs,
Forgotten where you're headed, but you don't seem to mind.
Well I'd love to steal your heart away,
But baby I ain't no thief, Well I can be the bad guy,
No I ain't no Lee Van Cleef
The Strypes's song Angel Eyes depicts the attraction that one feels for the wrong person. In the first verse, the singer talks about a man who walks into the picture and how enticing his eyes are. Despite knowing that he is bad news, the person still takes a chance and falls for the charm of the "Angel Eyes." The second verse describes how the attraction is overpowering; the person is unable to slow down the relationship even if they want to. The chorus repeatedly emphasizes the irresistible pull that these Angel Eyes have over the person; they just cannot resist falling for them.
The song warns about the dangers of falling for the wrong person, but also acknowledges how difficult it can be to resist the pull. Furthermore, the lyrics suggest that sometimes it is hard to distinguish between the right and wrong choices in a relationship. The song has a catchy upbeat tune, with a mix of rock and roll and pop sounds, which makes it an enjoyable listen.
