Buzz Buzz Buzz
The Teenagers Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Well, buzz, buzz, buzz goes the bumble bee
Tweele, deedle, dee goes the bird
But the sound of your little voice, darling
Is the sweetest sound I've ever heard

I've seen the beauty of the red, red rose
Seen the beauty when the sky is blue
Seen the beauty of the evening sunset
But the beauty of you
Sweet as the honey from the honeycomb
Sweet are the grapes from the vine
But there's nothing as sweet as you, darling
And I hope someday you'll be mine

Well, buzz, buzz, buzz goes the bumble bee
Tweele, deedle, dee goes the bird
But the sound of your little voice, darling
Is the sweetest sound I've ever heard

I've seen the beauty of the red, red rose
Seen the beauty when the sky is blue
Seen the beauty of the evening sunset
But the beauty of you
Sweet as the honey from the honeycomb
Sweet are the grapes from the vine
But there's nothing as sweet as you, darling
And I hope someday you'll be mine
Hope someday you'll be mine

Hope someday you'll be mine
Hope someday you'll be mine

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Buzz Buzz Buzz" by The Teenagers Feat. Frankie Lymon express the unparalleled beauty of the object of the singer's affection. The song begins by acknowledging that there are several sounds that could be considered beautiful, such as the buzzing of a bumblebee and the singing of a bird. However, the sound of the person's voice that the singer loves is the most beautiful sound in the world to them. The beauty of this person is then compared to other natural beauties such as a red rose, a blue sky, and an evening sunset. Despite these things being breathtakingly gorgeous, the person the singer loves is still the most beautiful.

The second verse goes on to describe the person as being as sweet as honey and grapes from the vine, which are known for being some of the sweetest things in nature. The singer expresses a desire for this person to be theirs and ends the song expressing hope for the future that they will be together. The lyrics of "Buzz Buzz Buzz" portray a deep and genuine appreciation for the beauty of the person the singer loves, acknowledging that their beauty surpasses all that nature has to offer.

I was lucky to see Frankie and The Teenagers on their UK tour in the 50s; it was so sad that his life ended the way it did; he made some great solo records, like this, but never enjoyed things like he did in the early days; he more or less died in the gutter through drug abuse, such a waste of a great talent. RIP Frankie, gone but never forgotten
