1. The Temptations … Read Full Bio ↴The Temptations may refer to at least two groups
1. The Temptations are an American Motown singing group whose repertoire has included doo-wop, soul, psychedelia, funk, disco, rnb, and adult contemporary. Formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1960 as The Elgins. The group, known for its finely tuned choreography, distinct harmonies, and stylish suits, has been said to be as influential to soul as The Beatles are to rock. Having sold an estimated 22 million albums by 1982, The Temptations are one of the most successful groups in black music history and were the definitive male vocal group of the 1960s. In addition, they have the second-longest tenure on Motown (behind Stevie Wonder), as they were with the label for a total of 40 years: 16 years from 1961 to 1977, and 24 more from 1980 to 2004 (from 1977 to 1980, they were signed to Atlantic Records). As of 2005, The Temptations continue to perform for Universal Records with only one original member, founder Otis Williams, in its lineup.
Like its sister group The Supremes, The Temptations' lineup has changed frequently over the years. The original group included members of two local Detroit vocal groups: second tenor/baritone Otis Williams, first tenor Elbridge Bryant and bass Melvin Franklin from The Distants; and first tenor/falsetto Eddie Kendricks and second tenor/baritone Paul Williams (no relation to Otis) from The Primes. Among the most notable future Temptations were lead singers David Ruffin and Dennis Edwards (both of whom became successful Motown solo artists after leaving the group, as did Kendricks), Richard Street (another former Distant), Damon Harris, Ron Tyson, Ali-Ollie Woodson, Theo Peoples, and G.C. Cameron.
Over the course of their career, The Temptations have released four number-one pop hit singles and 14 number-one R&B hit singles, and their material has earned them three Grammy Awards. Most of the early Temptations hits, including "The Way You Do the Things You Do", "My Girl", and "Get Ready" were written and produced by Smokey Robinson and other members of The Miracles, while composer/producer Norman Whitfield and lyricists Eddie Holland and Barrett Strong crafted most of the group's later hits, including "Ain't Too Proud to Beg", "I Wish It Would Rain", "Cloud Nine", "I Can't Get Next to You", "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)", and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone".
2. There was also a 50s doo-wop group from New York named the Temptations. They are best remembered for their 1960 top 40 hit "Barbara. After this hit, lead singer Neil Stevens went solo.

I'm gonna do all the things for you, a girl wants a man to do.
Oh, baby (Oh, baby)
I'll sacrifice for you, I'll even do wrong for you.
Oh, baby (Oh, baby)
Every minute, every hour.
I'm gonna shower you with love and affection.
And I'm... I'm gonna make you love me.
Oh, yes I will.
Yes I will.
I'm gonna make you love me.
Oh, yes I will.
Yes I will.
Diana:
Look it here.
My love is strong, you see.
I know you'll never get tired of me.
Oh, baby (Should won't) (Oh baby)
And I'm gonna use every trick in the book.
I'll try my best to get you hooked.
Hey, baby (Take me I'm yours) (Hey, baby)
And every night, every day.
I'm gonna say.
I'm gonna get you, I'm gonna get you.
Look out boy, 'cause I'm gonna get you.
I'm gonna make you love me.
Ooo, yes I will.
Yes I will.
And I'm gonna make you love me.
Ooo, yes I will
You know I will.
Every breathe I take.
And each and every step I make.
Brings me closer, baby.
Closer to you.
Otis:
And with each beat of my heart.
For every day we are apart.
I'll hunger for every wasted hour.
Eddie:
And every night and every day.
I'm gonna get you, I'm gonna get you.
Look out 'cause I'm gonna get you.
And I'm gonna make...
I'm gonna make you love me.
Oh, oh. (Yes I will)
I'm gonna make you love me.
Ooo, yes I will. Yes I will.
I'm gonna make you love me.
Yes I will. (Yes I will)
Ooo, I'm gonna make you love me.
Yes I will.
Yes I will.
The Temptations' "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" is a duet between Diana Ross and The Supremes and Eddie Kendricks and the Temptations. The lyrics express a determination to woo and win over the object of their affection by any means necessary. The song begins with Eddie declaring his willingness to do anything for his love interest. He promises to shower her with love and attention and to sacrifice even if he must take questionable actions. Diana then chimes in, insisting that her love is strong, and she will stop at nothing to hook her love interest using all the tricks in her arsenal. Eddie interjects his all-out determination to make her love him, and Otis concludes the song with a promise to long continually for his loved one distant.
The chorus of the song "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" is repetitive, which makes it catchy and easy to learn. The lyrics depict a classic tale of trying to win love through persistence and determination. It is an uncomplicated song without complicated metaphors and underlying symbolism. It's simply about pursuing an ideal or true love.

Super Job Otis Williams!
The Temps are still one of the most imitated groups that made music for every occasion. Great natural individual talents came together to form super harmonies from the high to low vocal range that collided together. I remember when Dennis Edwards was a guest on a Christian network and the host asked about his early experiences in music and his early days with Motown and The Temptations. Dennis said Motown had experienced professional mentors that taught them how to behave. He said the Temps motto or code of ethics was something like this; the Temps were advices to;..
1."Always THINK like a Temptation;
2.Always ACT like a Temptation;
3.Always DRESS like a Temptation;
4.Always BE a Temptation"
Even today this still solid advice for the young Christian; 1.Always Think like a Christian;
2.Always Act like a Christian;
3.Always Dress like a Christian;
4.Always Be a Christian. Great video THANKS

Eddie is the bomb.

Eddie's falsetto is mesmerizing, and Melvin's subtle bass riffs in harmony are perfect.

Eddie Kendrick the best who ever did it. So effortless from note to note. Knows when to go high, and when to go low but never over sing or drown out the back round singers. One of a kind. Truly blessed.

Damon was, you old folks donβt know how to give young guns credit. Damon had a much more powerful singing voice.
