The Wrens are known for their explosive stage presence, despite each member being well past 35, and are steadily gaining a fanbase across the world. Their debut album, "Silver", was released in 1994 to a moderate degree of critical acclaim. However, it was their second LP, "Secaucus" (named in reference to the town in New Jersey where they resided), that established them as one of the top bands on the indie rock scene. Both of these albums were released on the now defunct Grass Records label.
After the release of "Secaucus", Grass Records came under new ownership, who decided to make The Wrens the flagship band of the label. After the band turned down a million-dollar contract stipulating that the band record more "radio friendly" songs, The Wrens were dropped by Grass Records. "Silver" and "Secaucus" were only recently reissued in 2006 after years out of circulation because of this.
Hindered by their label issues through much of the 1990s, the Wrens managed only to release one EP, "Abbott 1135", in 1997 under the label Ten23 Records. The band's third full-length album, "The Meadowlands", finally surfaced in late 2003 (seven years after the release of "Secaucus") under Absolutely Kosher Records to enormous critical acclaim, topping critics' polls for the following two years and suddenly jump-starting an otherwise plateauing career.
The Wrens are currently being filmed for a documentary by the production company Little Quill, and are working on another LP and a re-recording of Abbott 1135.
There are other artists with the same name:
2) The Wrens were a doo-wop and R&B band from the Morrisania section of the Bronx in New York City. They are best-known for their song "Come Back My Love."
The Wrens first started singing together in 1954 and were comprised of lead singer Bobby Mansfield, George Magnezid (tenor), Francis "Frenchie" Concepcion (tenor), and James "Archie" Archer (bass). They admired the artists such as the Clovers, the Ravens, the Orioles, the Mills Brothers, Nat King Cole and Louis Jordan.
The Wrens were known best for their smooth, elegant harmony singing, and had a somewhat harder R&B edge than many similar groups at the time. Unfortunately, only six singles were offically released before Bobby Mansfield left the group in 1956 for a solo career. The Wrens were inducted into the United Group Harmony Association's Hall of Fame in 1998.
3) The Wrens are also a french indie folk band.
4.) The Wrens are also a family of birds, which may be scrobbled by those listening to recordings of bird songs.

I took nudes of our youngest boy
I took two years to take his name over
I beat blank with blank's toy
I'd sing your praises to the devil's face
But even fire couldn't dry you out
You wouldn't know a good shot if you drank one
Shut up and while we're on the subject
Of endless me and the what's i've done
I didn't raise my boy to be your snapshot toy
Not for you, not my son
And as he made his point, he opened up my eye:
We're off and running
North to Nothing, yeah
I would not miss him
As perfect as he ****
Bet bottom dollar said as night day follows
Ain't a thought you can call your own
Just to vary someone's variation
To reshow what's been shown
(_Aaaah_)
A call to mothers and my fast ex-lovers
Had the boys packing out by ten
We moved in with earl and his own two girls
I took photographs of spirograph--oh let's begin again
But then earl kept having nightmares
About being tamed by dogs and fence
And when the agents came and asked for him by name
Well those dreams they made sense
Just when I'm used to him he has to go bye-bye...
We're off and running
North to Nothing, yeah
I don't miss him
As perfect as he ****
When dark came
When dark came
When dark came
When dark came
[Just when I'm used to him, he has to go bye-bye]
And i wrote and i've called you for wednesdays now
That's what the note tacked on to earl's door said
And i hard cried my way down the hall
I'll go south, i'll go south more ways than one
I'll probably need some cash to get started and so
I sold your pictures that won
Love, Ann
(ps. i understand your man friend has turned up missing)
We're off and running
North to Nothing, yeah
I would not miss him
As perfect as he ****
And then dark came
And then dark came
And then dark came
And then dark came

The Wrens' "North to Nothing" is a hauntingly beautiful song that tells a story of a man who takes inappropriate photographs of his son and then leaves his family. The song is full of vivid imagery and raw emotion, and it's clear that the singer is struggling with feelings of anger, betrayal, and loss.
The lyrics describe the singer's decision to leave his wife and son, and his subsequent journey north towards the wilderness of "Nothing." Along the way, he takes photographs of his surroundings and the people he meets, using his camera as a way of capturing and processing his emotions. He also reflects on his failed relationship with his wife, blaming her for not appreciating his photography and for not understanding his artistic vision.
The most powerful moment in the song comes when the singer's young son confronts him about the inappropriate photographs he took. The singer realizes the harm he has caused and begins to feel regret for his actions. This realization spurs him on to continue his journey north, leaving his former life behind and starting anew in the wilderness.
Overall, "North to Nothing" is a deeply personal and emotional song that explores themes of family, creativity, and betrayal. The lyrics are filled with vivid imagery and powerful metaphors, and the song is a testament to The Wrens' talent for crafting evocative, thought-provoking music.
