Don't Be Afraid
Theophilus London Lyrics

One day, oh just you and me
And I just feel alive, when my heart
You got to use your mind
How could you deceive, when you love
That's not fair to me
Don't blame it on a child
And while you blame it on TV
No need to be shy
Oh you will get your time, your mine
You will get to shine
Don't be afraid to die
'cause one day you'll be allowed to fly
Oh we should take a seat
One day, oh just you and me
And I just feel alive, when my heart
You got to use your mind
How could you deceive, when you love
That's not fair to me
Don't blame it on a child
And while you blame it on TV
And I just like to fuck, but girl
No need to be shy
Oh you will get your time, your mine
You will get to shine
Don't be afraid to die
'cause one day you'll be allowed to fly
Oh we should take a seat, oh girl
Let's have some wine and cheese
Don't be afraid, don't be afraid
Don't be afraid, don't be afraid
Don't be afraid, don't be afraid
Don't be afraid, don't be afraid
Don't be afraid, don't be afraid
Don't be afraid, don't be afraid
Don't be afraid, don't be afraid
Don't be afraid
The lyrics of Theophilus London's song "Don't Be Afraid" convey a message of empowerment and self-assurance, urging the listener not to fear the unknown or shy away from life's challenges. The repeated refrain "Don't be afraid" serves as a reassuring mantra throughout the song, encouraging resilience and bravery in the face of adversity. The singer emphasizes the importance of using one's mind and confronting deception with love, suggesting that true strength lies in sincerity and compassion.
The imagery of "taking a seat" with someone, possibly a loved one, evokes a sense of intimacy and shared vulnerability. The idea of feeling alive when the heart is engaged suggests a deep emotional connection and a readiness to embrace life's experiences fully. The lyrics touch on themes of honesty, accountability, and the complexities of human relationships, cautioning against blaming others for one's own shortcomings and emphasizing the need for self-awareness and introspection.
The references to enjoying life's pleasures, such as wine and cheese, contrast with the weightier themes of mortality and the fear of death. The singer reassures the listener that fear should not hold them back from pursuing their dreams and embracing their true potential. The lyrics suggest a belief in the transformative power of facing one's fears and finding the courage to spread one's wings and soar, metaphorically alluding to the idea of personal growth and self-actualization.
In essence, "Don't Be Afraid" is a song that champions resilience, self-discovery, and the courage to confront the unknown. It encourages listeners to stand tall in the face of challenges, to embrace their vulnerabilities, and to find strength in their own authenticity and capacity for growth. With its blend of introspective lyrics and empowering refrains, the song serves as a heartfelt reminder that fear should not dictate one's path, but rather be transcended in the pursuit of a more fulfilling and purposeful existence.

Agreed. I never post songs, but I needed to share this one for a contest. Was surprised it wasn't up already.
