In April 1995 This Empty Flow signed to the Italian label Avantgarde Music. Between September and November the band spent 12 days at the Studio U96 in Pori, Finland and recorded their debut album, "Magenta Skycode", released in March 1996. In November of the same year This Empty Flow played their first concert in Lahti, Finland, guitarist Jukka Sillanpää, producer of "Magenta Skycode", joined the band. In December Niko Sirkiä decided to leave the band to concentrate on his own projects.
In January 1997 This Empty Flow played their second concert in Helsinki, Finland with Jukka Sillanpää on guitar and Hanna Kalske on keyboards, but in the Summer of the same year they decided to disband. Jori Sjöroos and Aku-Toumas Mattila started their own new projects.
After the split-up there have been some other releases. "Three Empty Boys" was released in 1999 including 4 songs from the unreleased follower of the debut album and 7 studio rehearsals/demos recorded in 1995-97. After a mini album titled "Useless and Empty Songs" in 2000, in 2001 came out "Nowafter", a compilation album with rare and unreleased songs.
In March 2006 Eibon Records re-released "Magenta Skycode" along with a bonus CD of extra tracks from around the album's time period as a 2-CD album, simply titled "The Album".

Your dreamy silent waves
Shades on your belly soft
Shades to wash the desert sands
But I was and I am still
Waters, the sea is calling
I fall I sink I fall
Oh as always I try to see
But your marble eyes kill me again
Salt statues in the depths of seas

The lyrics of This Empty Flow's song Still depict a sense of despair and longing. The first line, "Oh your lips are gray," may refer to someone who is sick or unhealthy. This is further emphasized in the second line, "Your dreamy silent waves," which may refer to the person being in a coma or unconscious state. The third line, "Shades on your belly soft," is a reference to the shadows that are cast on the person's body, possibly from the sunlight. The fourth line, "Shades to wash the desert sands," may be a metaphor for the person's body being like a desert, in need of cleansing.
The next set of lyrics, "But I was and I am still/Waters, the sea is calling/I fall I sink I fall/Waters, the sea is coming close," highlights the singer's desire to escape from their current situation. The sea is often used in literature and art as a symbol of freedom or a new beginning, so the singer may be seeking a fresh start or release from their pain.
The last few lines of the song, "Oh as always I try to see/But your marble eyes kill me again/Salt statues in the depths of seas/Containers/Containers" add to the overall sense of hopelessness. The singer's attempts to find hope or meaning are repeatedly thwarted by the world around them. The line "Salt statues in the depths of seas" may be a metaphor for how the singer sees themselves as trapped, immobile figures under the sea, encased in salt.
