Headspace
Thomston Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Far gone
You'd be better off if I was far gone
Running back to waste another chance on
Another pair of arms that'll carry you down
I only speak but never act
I give you all, then take it back
Everything you never asked for
Palm clenched tight
And I've tried my best to no avail
This coffin needs another nail
You're coming back to hear me say it
One more time cause I've
I've got you where I want you
But I don't even want you to stay
Would you hate me if I sent you away?
Would you call me if my mind began to change?
Cause I don't trust my headspace
It never stays in one place for long

Would you like me if I strung you along?
Cause you like me when I'm treating you wrong

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Thomston's song Headspace depict a conflicted relationship between the singer and their partner. The singer is aware that they are not good for their partner and suggests that their partner would be better off if they were gone. They acknowledge their tendency to give their partner everything and then take it back. The relationship is unstable and uncertain, and the singer is struggling with their own headspace.

The singer is caught in a quandary about their partner. They say they have got their partner where they want them, but they don't even want them to stay. They are unsure whether their partner would hate them if they sent them away or call them if their mind began to change. The singer doesn't trust their own headspace and is uncertain about what they want from the relationship. The song captures the angst of a person who is battling with their own demons, but at the same time, they don't want to hurt their partner. They are confused, unsure of themselves, and their headspace.

Overall, the song is a plea for understanding, an attempt to reconcile with their partner's feelings. It's a bittersweet reflection on the struggles of a relationship, and it asks the fundamental question of whether or not the two people in the relationship are meant to be together.

Man, I’ve lived Thomston since I first heard his voice, which was mainly on accident, and he’s was and still is my number 1 favourite artist. He is the literal definition of immaculate, and he will forever be in my heart. I hope that soon he will get the recognition he deserves!
