From there, the band would continue to rise in the charts. In 2007, they released their fifth full-length, The Flame in All of Us, which was produced by Ken Andrews (Beck, Chris Cornell, Pete Yorn). Arriving in 2009, the aggressive Welcome to the Masquerade, which would be the band's last release with Tooth & Nail, entered the Billboard Top 200 at number 35, peaking at number two on the Christian rock chart. It was their most successful album to date and would spawn the band's first live album, Live at the Masquerade. The group's next studio album, The End Is Where We Begin, was issued in 2012. It was their first album released entirely independently. Continuing the upward chart trajectory with each subsequent release, The End debuted at number 14 on the Billboard 200, and claimed the top spots on both the hard rock and Christian charts. In late 2013, the band released Made in Canada: The 1998-2010 Collection, which included two new tracks. Thousand Foot Krutch remained independent into 2014, relying on crowd-sourcing for the release of the energetic Oxygen: Inhale, the first part of a pair of hard rock chart-topping LPs. The heavier Exhale followed in 2016, marking TFK's third consecutive Christian number one.

Is handing out answers
About why we are here
And it's a small town in a small world
And the congregation's small too
But somehow I think they're telling the truth
And in the same small town there is a girl
And she's wondering about tomorrow and why she's here
She's sick and tired of using her sleeve to wipe her tears
And oh oh,
You can tell by the look that's in her eyes
She's not that well
She's wishin' someone would close their eyes
And picture this for just a moment to their selves
And oh, at least that's what they say
At least that's what they
that's what they say
that's what they say
At least that's what's they say
She sits alone
She's a re-run queen
The sun shines through her window
Enough to make out her figurine
The neighbors look at her strange
'cause she's lived there her whole life
And they still don't know her name
She likes to keep to herself
'cause she can't find nobody else
And you can tell by the look that's in her eyes
She's not that well
She's wishing someone would close their eyes
And picture this for just a moment to their selves
And at least that's what they say, yeah
At least that's what they
That's what they say
That's what they say
And at least that's what they say,
Yeah, yeah
[Repeat: x4]
What they say
And I don't care
[Repeat: x4]
What they say
And I don't care
[Repeat: x4]
What they say
And I don't care
No
She wanders through the town
To find this place she's heard about
Thinking maybe they can figure out what's wrong, oh
They greet her with a smile
Saying they've been waitin' quite some while
Just to let her know she's worth more than she's ever dreamed of
And her heart opens wide
And for the first time in her life
She feels the touch of Jesus deep inside, oh
she wonders what went wrong
In a town where nothing's going on
And thinks of all the others that she knows
[Repeat: x9]
And she's sad
[Repeat: x7]
Want to leave out her name
[Repeat: x7]
No
She wanders through the town
To find this place she's heard about
Thinking maybe they can figure out what's wrong
They greet her with a smile
Sayin' they've been waitin' quite some while
Just to let her know she's worth more than she's ever dreamed of
The song "Small Town" by Thousand Foot Krutch talks about a place that is not too far from where the singer is, which is handing out answers about why they are here. This small town is situated in a small world, and the congregation is also small, but somehow the singer believes they are telling the truth. In the same small town, there is a girl who appears to be upset with the world and wonders about tomorrow and why she is here. She sits alone, and even though she has lived there her entire life, the neighbors do not know her name, and she prefers it that way.
The girl wanders through the town looking for the place she had heard about. She is greeted with a warm smile and is made to understand she is worth way more than she ever imagined. For the first time in her life, she feels the touch of Jesus deep inside her. She wonders why nothing is going on in her town and thinks about all the other individuals she knows who may feel the same way.
"Small Town" is an incredible song that has a deep meaning behind its lyrics. Through its lyrics, you can understand that no matter how small the place you reside in is or how deep in problems you may be, there is still hope. There are people out there willing to hear your story, willing to share your problems, and also people who genuinely care.
