I've been hanging around for a minute
Baby don't gimmie me you it won't hurt me
I don't even know if you deserve me
But with that moon in the sky
Who wants to be alone
And when the stars shine so bright
Don't take me home
'Til the sun comes up 'til the sun comes up
Don't take me home
'Til the sun comes up 'til the sun comes up
Don't take me home
'Til the sun comes up 'til the sun comes up
Don't take me home
'Til the sun comes up 'til the sun comes up
Right next to me
You wanna be
'Til the sun comes up
I am going nowhere in a hurry
Baby come take away all my worries
But with that moon in the sky
Who wants to be alone
And when the stars shine so bright
Who wants to be alone
Don't take me home
'Til the sun comes up 'till the sun comes up
Don't take me home
'Til the sun comes up 'til the sun comes up
Don't take me home
'Til the sun comes up 'til the sun comes up
Don't take me home
'Til the sun comes up 'til the sun comes up
Right next to me
You wanna be
'Til the sun comes up
I'm out of my head (I'm out of my head)
I'm out of my head (I'm out of my head)
I'm out of my head (I'm out of my head)
I'm out of my head (I'm out of my head)
I'm out of my head
But with that moon in the sky
Who wants to be alone
And when the stars shine so bright
Who wants to be alone
Don't take me home
'Til the sun comes up 'til the sun comes up
Don't take me home
'Til the sun comes up 'til the sun comes up
Don't take me home
'Til the sun comes up 'til the sun comes up
Don't take me home
'Til the sun comes up 'til the sun comes up
Right next to me
You wanna be
'Til the sun comes up
In "Who Wants to Be Alone," Tiësto and Nelly Furtado convey a message of wanting companionship in the night. The lyrics express a desire to be noticed and appreciated by someone, as opposed to spending the night alone. The opening lines of the song set the tone for this desire for companionship. The singer has been waiting for the person they are interested in to notice them, and they are hopeful that something might happen between them. However, they're not sure if this person is worthy of their attention. The chorus then states that with the moon and stars shining brightly in the sky, it's difficult to be alone. They want someone to spend the night with until the sun comes up.
The second verse amplifies this desire for company, with the singer expressing that they are not in a hurry to go anywhere and would love to have their worries taken away. The repetitive refrain of not wanting to be taken home until the sun comes up indicates a desire for an intense and deep connection with the person they are interested in. The song continues with the singer being "out of their head," suggesting the intense feelings of attraction and desire they have. The chorus repeats again, emphasizing the desire for companionship until the sun comes up.
Overall, the song conveys a message of wanting someone to share the night with, to be noticed and appreciated by someone else, and to spend an intimate and fulfilling night with them until the sun rises.
