Dice learned to play the guitar as a child, began songwriting in his early teens and at the age of 15 joined band The Dice, using Tom Eeckhout Dice as his stage name.
In 2008 he entered the Flemish X Factor and, with Maurice Engelen as his vocal coach, finished runner-up to Dirk De Smet. Following X Factor, Dice became the first signing to new label SonicAngel, and in June 2009, now under the name of Tom Dice, released his first single, an acoustic cover of Leona Lewis' Bleeding Love. The single went on to reach number 7 on the Flemish singles chart during a 14-week chart run. Dice received a nomination in the 2009 TMF Awards in the category "Best New Artist", losing out to Jasper Erkens.
In May 2009, Dice began working, again with Engelen, on his debut album, which was originally scheduled for an October 2009 release, but has yet to be issued.
On 25 November 2009, Dice was chosen by the Flemish broadcaster Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroep (VRT) to represent Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo, Norway. His distinctive voice and TV experience were cited among the factors behind his selection. Reaction in Belgium to the announcement that Dice had been chosen by internal means was mixed, with some feeling that an open and public selection involving different artists would have been preferable.
The chosen song "Me and My Guitar" was unveiled on 7 March 2010. Dice will perform in the first semi-final in Oslo on 25 May 2010.

Il Nous Fait
Tom Dice Lyrics

Des insomnies, des engueulades
Des retrouvailles à la bougie
Il nous faut du vent, un peu de pluie
De longues balades et pas de bruit
Non pas de bruit
I know what you need, I'm thinking of us
Looking at you as usually
And why do you care, is it too much?
I need to know
If I'm needed
You and I
Close together
A new dimension
But if we dare we will succeed
Il nous faut aussi un jean usé
Que l'on partage, deux-trois secrets
D'enfants pas sages, il nous faut l'envie
De rendez-vous, un très grand lit
Sans rien autour
Non rien
You and I
Close together
A new dimension
Still far from being complete
You and I
Close together, a new dimension
But if we dare we will succeed
Du temps, l'envie, pas de bruit
La nuit
Le jour
Sans rien autour
Toi et moi
C'est presque ça
C'est tellement déjà
Il nous manque si peu de choses
Toi et moi
C'est presque ça
C'est tellement déjà
Nous serons ce que l'on ose
You and I
Close together
A new dimension
But if we dare we will succeed
C'est tellement déjà
Toi et moi
You and I (toi et moi)
Close together (tellement déjà)
A new dimension
Nous serons ce que l'on ose (ce que l'on ose, ce que l'on ose)
The song "Il nous faut" by Tom Dice is a romantic and dreamy ballad that speaks about the need for time, communication, and shared experiences in a relationship. The lyrics suggest that for a relationship to work, couples need to go through some hardships, such as sleepless nights, arguments, and then make up with candlelit dates. The song highlights the importance of taking long walks, cherishing silence, and sharing special moments that are away from the noise of their daily lives. The lyrics try to portray that relationships may require some work and patience but are worth it when love is mutual.
The song further delves into the idea of understanding what each other needs and speaks to the insecurity that at times comes when one is not sure if they are needed by their partner. But in the end, despite their imperfections, the love that they share is so close to being perfect. The chorus of the song reinforces that if they dare to push past their challenges, they will eventually reach a new level of their relationship, and their love will thrive.
Tom Dice has brought several essential elements together in the song—the balance between the lyrics and melody, the depth of meaning that conveys a positive message of hope for relationships everywhere. The songwriting is incredibly captivating, and the chord progression and tune of the song stay with the listener even after the song ends.
