As Luck Would Have It
Tom Rosenthal Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
So long to last lines, every time's the first time, I'm off to have some fun.
A cauldron of potions, drops of the oceans, couldn't solve this one.
As luck would have it I'm on the planet, and so it seems are you.
The lyrics to Tom Rosenthal's song As Luck Would Have It are an introspective reflection on the transience of human existence and the importance of seizing the fleeting moments of life. The opening line "Unsung don't say it, touch it, or replay it, it only happens once" suggests that some experiences in life are so rare and spontaneous that they cannot be captured or repeated in art, language or memory. This line is a powerful reminder of the ephemeral nature of life and the need to cherish every moment as a unique and unrepeatable gift.
The second line "So long to last lines, every time's the first time, I'm off to have some fun" is a celebration of embracing the unknown and the excitement of discovering things for the first time. It's a reminder that life is full of opportunities to try new things and explore the world, and we should do so with an open and curious mind. The third line "A cauldron of potions, drops of the oceans, couldn't solve this one" conveys the idea that some problems in life cannot be solved by science, technology or logic alone. These problems require a deeper understanding of human nature and connection to the universe.
