It's not for me to say if this joke is offensive but I do find it slightly funny.
Travellers are a distinct ethnic group and as such experience huge levels of prejudice and discrimination. There is criminality in all ethnic groups but people should be seen as individuals and not judged on the behavior of other members of their ethnic group. To judge people by virtue of their ethnicity is racial prejudice.
I don't think Tommy Tiernan is a person who is prejudiced. He takes risks with his humour and is indiscriminate about who he offends. He seems to be in favour of equal opportunities offensivess!
I love his humour and his humanity.
I don't appreciate entire groups being characteristised by the behaviour of some of their members. There is no way for individuals to access education, health care, employment etc and to better themselves if they face hatred and prejudice every where they turn.
If these remarks referred to other ethnic groups such as black people there would be outrage. Traveller racism is absolutely tolerated and accepted and that is totally unacceptable in liberal country.

Irish comedians ... 'amongst the best. 'But prepare yourself for understanding every 15th word. Love, Tommy, love.

That's what makes them the best.

No harm intended to anyone by this fella. It is comedy and every one should lighten up. Real life is so so very horrible at times, and laughter is the best medicine for all. That is fact not fiction.

This is my favourite bit of stand up ever - it’s perfectly crafted!!
