Did a taste test years ago with a friend with three brands. 1st, Nathan's, 2nd, surprisingly-Dodger Dogs. 3rd, Ball Park. For me, it's been Nathen's ever since. Of oourse, everyone has their own taste buds. So, just cook them the way you like.

Hot dogs are already a cooked product; all you are doing it reheating them. This can be done however you want. You can boil, fry, grill, even microwave them. Burnt dogs is subjective. Like burnt bits of pizza crust, it can taste good.

Personally, I prefer natural casing hot dogs. They have a “snap” that skinless dogs lack.

Some people don’t clean grills because the heat burns off bacteria and the grates hold oils and flavors from previous grills. It’s all gonna be sanitary if your grill is firing off at 400 degrees 😂

I soak my dogs in water for hours; reverse brining. I like to get as much salt out as possible. Then, I'm good with simmering because they stay moist, like a dog at a ballpark or a street vendor (let's be honest, that's what we all want!.) If grilling, okay, low and slow. The spiral thing sounds cool!

Boil a pot of water, reduce it a slow simmer and dump in the hot dogs for a few minutes then reduce the heat just enough to keep the water hot but not boiling. More often than not I just throw them in the microwave for a minute or two, slap on a bun with mustard and off to the television.

Anyone who claims to be a chef and gives you a tip on grilling hot dogs with the tip being spiral cut the dogs shouldnt be trusted cus spiral cutting your hot dogs is how you lose all the juiciness to your hot dogs, sure aesthetically it looks cool but they will be dry as hell and easily over cooked. Bad tip.

Remember they are already cooked, just like bologna you can eat them right out of the package. So, really there are 5 things you can do ........... 1. Buy a good hot dog, don't skimp on a store brand. 2. Don't grill the hot dog, cook them quickly in a pan on the stove with a little oil turning often, and avoid the carcinogens 3. Don't split the hot dog lengthwise, you are just losing valuable moisture 4. Never ever put ketchup on them 5. Buy a decent bun and make sure it's fresh, lightly toast in the oven

I grew up in Indiana with zero doubt that I would like a hot dog, until I ate Nathan’s and Hebrew National which are the NASTIEST hot dogs I’ve ever eaten!!! NASTY!!!! Bitter, full of seasoning that never belong in my dog.

True. Definitely a US clip as on a barbecue except in the US you can prepare all kinds of stuff but I have never seen hotdogs on it. Even in Venezuela they boil hot dog sausages so burning them is really difficult. Sausages themselves are always welcome on the BBQ.
