On November 22nd, 2002, the band released Trapt, along with the single "Headstrong". "Headstrong" became a fantastic hit, reaching #1 on alternative charts and #16 on pop. Follow-up singles "Still Frame" and "Echo" (with a video featuring Michelle Trachtenberg) did respectably, although they never reached the heights of "Headstrong". "Headstrong" became the official theme song of WWE Bad Blood for June 2003. Trapt eventually hit platinum. After more than one year an EP followed on March 30th, 2004, that included a new song called "Promise" along with live versions of "Made Of Glass" and "Echo".
On September 13th, 2005, the band released their sophomore album "Someone In Control" along with the single "Stand Up". "Stand Up" failed to do as well as any of their previous singles, although it still made an excellent run on active rock stations. "Waiting" and "Disconnected (Out Of Touch)", were also released as singles, and have yet to repeat the success of any of Trapt's self-titled radio hits. The band spent the first half of 2006 co-headlining with Shinedown as part of the Equinox Tour.
A live album was released in September, 2007, containing live tracks from both previous albums with new studio tracks "Stay Alive" and "Everything to Lose".
Trapt hit the studio in July 2007 to begin recording their 3rd album, which was released on 5th August 2008 named "Only Through the Pain...".
Trapt announced in late fall/early winter 2009 they were working on a new album for summer or fall release in 2010. On July 20, 2010, Trapt released their first single "Sound Off," for the upcoming album "No Apologies," due out in stores October 12, 2010.

Becoming your religion looks are everything, the only thing that means something to you
Satisfaction only on the surface your eyes are always focused
Don't wanna let it show that there is no accept ion to the rule
So fill the empty space with another pretty face
No one will ever be perfect in your eyes
Skin deep skin deep always scratching the surface for your prize
First impressions are over in an instant
You make your decision before you speak a word you end your search the page or any turn?
Every conquest filled with disappointment lacking any substance
now your out of words the lines are blur your never gonna learn
So fill the empty space with another pretty face
Skin deep skin deep no one will ever be perfect in your eyes
skin deep skin deep always scratching the surface for your prize [Repeat: x2]
Look all your life for beauty this fine
So rare, so hard to find
Look all your life for beauty this fine
No mind what's inside
Your skin deep skin deep no one will ever be perfect in your eyes
skin deep skin deep always scratching the surface for your prize [Repeat: x2]
The song Skin Deep by Trapt discusses the concept of shallow attraction towards someone based solely on their physical appearance. The lyrics begin with the notion that this type of attraction is becoming a new "religion" to the subject. The person being portrayed in the song is only satisfied with what they can see on the surface, and their eyes are always focused on finding the next pretty face to fill their empty space. However, the lyrics also suggest that this type of attraction is futile and ultimately leads to disappointment. The subject's habit of quickly making a decision based solely on appearance leaves them always "scratching the surface for their prize."
The song suggests that the subject's shallow attraction is a part of who they are, and they will never be able to see anyone as "perfect" due to this fact. The chorus repeats the phrase "skin deep" to emphasize that the attraction is only surface-level and implies that the subject is only able to scratch the surface when it comes to getting to know anyone. The song also expresses the idea that the subject has been searching for beauty their whole life, and it's something they will continue to search for, regardless of what is on the inside.
The lyrics of Skin Deep provide commentary on the shallow nature of physical attraction and its limits in creating meaningful connections. The song emphasizes the futility and disappointment of constantly seeking out physical beauty without considering inner qualities.
