Songz was born Tremaine Aldon Neverson on November 28, 1984, in Petersburg, Virginia. Raised a military brat, he recognized his vocal abilities at the age of 14. Life on Mars?

To the girl with the mousy hair
But her mummy is yelling, "No!"
And her daddy has told her to go
But her friend is nowhere to be seen
Now she walks through her sunken dream
To the seat with the clearest view
And she's hooked to the silver screen
But the film is a saddening bore
For she's lived it ten times or more
She could spit in the eyes of fools
As they ask her to focus on
Sailors fighting in the dance hall
Oh man!
Look at those cavemen go
It's the freakiest show
Take a look at the Lawman
Beating up the wrong guy
Oh man! Wonder if he'll ever know
He's in the best selling show
Is there life on Mars?
It's on America's tortured brow
That Mickey Mouse has grown up a cow
Now the workers have struck for fame
'Cause Lennon's on sale again
See the mice in their million hordes
From Ibiza to the Norfolk Broads
Rule Britannia is out of bounds
To my mother, my dog, and clowns
But the film is a saddening bore
'Cause I wrote it ten times or more
It's about to be writ again
As I ask you to focus on
The song "Life on Mars?" by Trey Songz is a cover of the original song by David Bowie. The lyrics of the song paint a vivid picture of a struggling girl who is trying to escape her reality by immersing herself in the movies. The opening lines, "It's a god-awful small affair, To the girl with the mousy hair" suggest that the girl is not someone significant, and her situation is not important enough to be given any attention. However, the girl continues to live in her imaginary world, away from the judgement of others.
The second verse is about the movie which the girl is watching, and how sad it is. The line "She could spit in the eyes of fools, As they ask her to focus on," suggests that she has seen the same thing over and over, and it no longer affects her. The third verse changes the tone, mentioning a cow that grew up in Disney World, and the workers going on strike to be famous. The chorus repeats the famous line, "Is there life on Mars?" which is interpreted differently by different people. Overall, the song is about escapism and the desire for something better, whether it is through movies or the possibility of extraterrestrial life.

For all the people hating, a cover doesn't have to be better than the original to be worth something. Also, it's a different interpretation, it'd be so boring if all covers just sounded exactly like the original. Music should never be closed off.

He knocks it out of the park. This is great.

Exactly. Thanks for that comment. I'm pretty down to eart person, but what i like about art is...it's have to evolve, that's the way it is. So yeah, Bowie was pioneer, but this is damn goooooood.
