Trixter Lyrics

Well Hey Hey babytell me what's your name
From the way you look
and the way you dress
I can tell you ain't got no shame
And that's alright'Cause I'm just a man
You say you're from the city
Where things move so fasta
Got your fancy cars and your diamond rings
You don't need a love to last
And that's alrightI'm just a man baby

So take me home tonight
Like you know that you should
When you're ready to be bad
Just give it- give it to me good

Me I'm just a rocker Ain't got much to say
I never did things by the rules
Always did things my way
And that's alright'Cause that's the I am anyway
My father was a teacher
And he taught me how to live
He said "Son you gotta be someone
Not takin' more than you give"
And that's alright That's the way I am

So take me home tonight
Like you know that you should
When you're ready to be bad
Just give it Give it Give it to me good
Give it Give it to me good
Give it Give it to me good
Give it Give it to me good
c'mon c'mon Give it Give it to me good

Now that we're together
I'm gonna show you a thing or two
Little girl, you got a lot to learn
I'm gonna take you to my school
And make you feel alright 'cause I'm the man
yeah I'm the man
Give it Give it to me good
Give it Give it to me good

Give it Give it to me good
Give it Give it to me good

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Trixter’s “Give It to Me Good” may be interpreted as a salacious proposal from the singer to the addressee. He starts by asking for her name, but quickly proceeds in commenting on her appearance and positing that she may not be averse to engaging in sexual activity. He then offers himself as a man who may satisfy her physically, irrespective of her preference for fast living and material possessions. He characterizes himself as a rebellious person, who does not conform to social norms and is guided by his own principles that he inherited from his father who taught him to be a person of substance. In the final verse, he declares his intention to show her how it is done and to be her teacher, suggesting that he has more experience in sexual matters than she does.

The song’s lyrics showcase the typical male rockstar attitude of the era, objectifying women and glamorizing sexual experiences. The song was part of Trixter’s debut album that was released in 1990, amidst the heyday of the glam metal scene in the United States. The band was formed in New Jersey in 1983 and was active until the mid-1990s. The album reached the Billboard 200 charts and produced two hits, “Give It to Me Good” and “One in a Million.”

That's because NOTHING will ever be that good again. The 80s was a time that was untouchable... In a million and one ways. I miss it more than I could ever put into words. It was all about Rock n roll, fun, freedom, sexy boys with long hair, staying out late, breaking all the rules - in a good way- there was a raw innocence that will never exist ever again!
