If it weren't for Bob Stroud's "Rock & Roll Roots" radio show I most likely wouldn't have heard this song some 33 years ago. I was in high school then and it was he who whetted my appetite for '60s "garage rock". It sounded new, fresh and weird...it still does...and that's a VERY good thing!

The bass player of this group lived a few houses down the street from me back in the sixties - great guy! I was in a band then and one of the guys in my group knew him well enough to ask him to come over to hear our group - which he did - gave me a few pointers on playing my bass. I was only 14yrs old at the time! I think he drove a Jag XKE back then. Good times!

Well, I had to rate it a 5! After all, that's my husband singing and he wrote it (Max Jordan)! Where the heck did you find that? Johnny Pate (the engineer) sped that up to *frenetic* pace and made the band sound like Alvin and The Chipmunks. Believe me, it wasn't intended to be that fast!

We played this song back in 1968. We lived in north Indiana and heard it on WLS radio then. It was a crowd pleaser and dancer's tune. : )

LaPorte was where we were from and we played all around the county and went through a few metamorphosis's. Band names were : S.O.S. , The Remains , Deep River Rock Band, Tyne Kyte,and (without me) The Confederation. Peace. 1967 through 1972.

I remember seeing these guys at an armory on new years eve in Springfield, IL. It was either 68 or 69 I think. They were great and it was the first time I ever saw a rock player wearing makeup. I believe it was the bass player. I bought the 45 from them and we learned it in the band I was in that played around southern Illinois and St. Louis area. Always wondered what happened to them.

Before Bob Stroud's cd events and the cd's themselves were dropped by the station I was involved in some of the research for finding some of these llost songs. Max Jordan's daughter actually had posted a lot of their stuff on Youtube so it was actually quite easy to find some of their songs. If the cd's were still being done I had enough info to get at least 2 of the band members to appear at the cd release parties.

The Shadows of Night out of Chicago had this song on an album. We did it their way. It was a great dance tune to play and sing.

We used to cover this song...always had a lot of fun with it! Had no idea the Shadows had this on an album....We also covered a number of SOK songs.. Gonna make you mine, Gospel Zone, Oh Yeah, Dark Side & of course Gloria!!

Our meeting was in the western suburbs back then. Alot was happening with music in the area. Anyway, it would have been great to get to know Max better - definitely a positive musical influence on me and many others I'm sure.

Max lived on Summerdale in Chicago back in the sixties until we married in 1969. The XKE belonged to a friend (and former drummer for the Trolls), Gary Aull. Max had a red '64 Pontiac LeMans and a red '65 Dodge Coronet 500.

I totally share it with whoever I can! I bought their album at Woolworths and I got my first Hi-Fi stereo that had detachable speakers.. and I bought the Troll and Melanie, that day.🙂
When I was old enough to drive I was blessed with my own '68 Pontiac LeMans two-door coupe. ❤️
I loved that car more than any other car I have ever owned.
(And my grandma secretly enjoyed the choices that loved to spin.) She would be in her chair reading a book, or crossword puzzle. I thought for sure she'd come smack me upside the noggin when I played Cheech and Chong's Wedding album!!!
I didn't even know that it was, well, shall i say, not even close to Bobby Goldsboro. Or Bobby Sherman for that matter!! And thanks to my cool older brother, I quickly got immersed with so many incredible artists. Thanks Dave!

I just had a 45 minute phone call from Rick Gallagher of The Trolls and will be in contact with Max Jordan next week as a local dj here in Chicago wants this song for a compliation cd he produces every year. I am in regular contact with 2 of the members of The Flock and I have done a couple of cd covers for Jimy Rogers of The Mauds and I am good friends with Jimy Sohns of The Shadows of Knight.

Sorry leadsquirter. Sam the Sham debuted earlier but the Trolls actually hit the charts in early August of '66. I found the WLS (AM radio in Chicago) Silver Dollar Survey charts in our 'collectibiles'. However the Trolls were performing and playing that song in '65. What an incredible journey to find out people are still finding the music and thinking it's fun!

Apparently they have several 45s which are non-lp; like 10 sides which don’t appear
on their 1968 lp....darn shame as a compilation of these alone could make an album;

That HAD to be Bob Stroud! Unfortunately those are all limited edition CDs that were exclusively sold at a book/music chain that is no longer in existence (Borders). Once again this song is hard to find...

I have the first eight "Roots of Rock" from Bob Stroud and "Every Day..." isn't on them. As the popularity grew you
had to be quick to get those discs.

Nice song, lots of energy. Too bad about the singer tho'. When I here somebody has become a mindslave of the Watchtower I feel like they have basically died. What a dismal organization fostering a vicious circle of lies on unsuspecting dupes.

Here’s the difference between the singer and you: A family member commented here, indicating they haven’t been involved with Watchtower in decades. I’m sure at the time, they had good intentions when they joined. Unlike you…whose only intention was to gossip and trash someone rather than simply enjoy their music. And you KNEW it was not nice. But you did it anyway. You are the last person to be lecturing anyone else about being dismal and vicious.

@Bromoteknada Oh really? Was that after a gig? Doubtful as that would have been 1977 and the band broke up in 1969. Max was very heavily involved in Jehovah's Witnesses at that time as an elder in the congregation. If that WAS the case, you must not have been too memorable. I passed along the message and Max has no clue who you are. So sad.
