1) A French trio: Fred Berthet, Arnaud Taillefer & DJ Oil. They met, in 1998, at la Friche Belle (Marseille, France). Their appreciation for '60s / '70s jazz, funk & film scores - plus dance elements - produced a distinctive eclectic sound.
Two years in studio produced a début album - Doubts & Convictions (2001 on Guidance Recordings). Then, Fred departed, leaving a duo. Next they produced a 52 min' film soundtrack - Express Way (filmed in Marseille, OST on Blue Note).
2) A Swedish punk band originally formed in Gothenburg in 1981 with members from Perverts and Göteborg Sound. After a while the band split up in 1991, but reformed in 1995.

Som tror att hon vet for hon vet for hon tror
Det jag sag I dina ogon
Sager mer an tusen ord
Det jag sag I dina ogon
Star inte skrivet I nan bok
The Troublemakers' song "Forstod ingenting" is a powerful, thought-provoking track that deals with themes of confusion, disillusionment, and the search for truth. The opening verses depict the singer being bombarded with information and ideas, a deluge of words and songs and even pills that he can't seem to make sense of. It's like lighting a barrel of gunpowder - something explosive is brewing, but he can't quite grasp what it is.
The next section of the song turns to religion, specifically Christianity, and how the singer struggles to reconcile what he reads in the Bible with what he sees in the world around him. The idea of Satan being black and Jesus being white is shown to be clearly racist, while the belief that God has absolute control over everything is somewhat distressing. The chorus is a message of hope in the midst of all this uncertainty - the singer didn't understand what was happening, but it turned out to be a good thing in the end.
The final verse brings everything back down to close range, as it were, with the simple yet potent image of looking someone in the eye and seeing all you need to know. Despite all the books and songs and drugs and information, there's no substitute for real, honest human connection. All too often we get caught up in the noise and forget what's truly important.
