The song Mental kristid by Troublemakers talks about the struggle of living in a world where everything seems to revolve around money and materialism. The opening lyrics illustrate the desperation of the singer who works every day for money but never sees enough of it. He yearns to escape from this life and wants more, just like everybody else. The chorus 'Mental kristid' which is repeated several times throughout the song, can be interpreted as a reference to the mental strain and pressure that people face in order to survive and succeed in this society.
The second verse talks about how drugs are readily available to anyone who wants them. The singer knows someone who is fond of getting sedated in front of the TV, watching a show called 'Get Smart'. The song seems to be critiquing how people often turn to drugs and other forms of escapism to cope with the harsh realities of life. Through this, Troublemakers are perhaps highlighting the need for society to address the underlying issues and challenges that people face rather than simply enabling them to hide behind drugs and other distractions.
Overall, the song speaks to the mental and emotional struggles that are associated with living in a world that emphasizes materialism and success above everything else. Troublemakers' use of lyrical repetition throughout the song, and the raw energy of the music, captures the weight that these pressures can have on people's mental health and wellbeing.
