I Need to Know
Twarres Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
How do you do
And do you miss me a lot
(I need to know)
I need an answer
you're still breathing in my mind
You breathe in and breathe out
It's a simple question
But you just don't answer
I need to know
How do you do
And do you miss me a lot
I need an answer
I know you are still around
You breathe in and breathe out
If I close my eyes you are
Sitting in front of me at the kitchentable
I need to know
How do you do
And do you miss me a lot
I need an answer
So I need to know where you are and we can speak again
Oh yes I'll be looking for you until we had a talk
I need to know
How do you do
And do you miss me a lot
(I need to know)
I need an answer
I need to know
(I need to know)
How do you do
And do you miss me a lot
(I need to know)
I need an answer
I need you're answer
The lyrics to Twarres's song "I Need to Know" express a feeling of longing and desperation for answers. It appears that the singer of the song is trying to connect with someone who has been absent or distant from their life. The singer needs to know how this person is doing and if they miss them. To emphasize the urgency of their need for answers, the phrase "I need to know" is repeated multiple times throughout the song.
The opening lines "I need to know, how do you do, and do you miss me a lot" suggest that the singer may have lost touch with someone close to them, and they want to check in and see how they are doing. The repetition of "I need an answer" highlights the singer's desperation for a response. However, the person they are trying to reach does not seem to be responding to them, as emphasized by the repeated line "it's a simple question, but you just don't answer".
The second verse implies that this person is still on the singer's mind, as they imagine them sitting at the kitchen table. The song ends on a somewhat optimistic note, with the singer saying they will continue to look for this person until they can have a conversation.
Overall, the lyrics of "I Need to Know" convey a sense of longing and desperation for connection, with the repeated use of the phrase "I need to know" emphasizing the singer's need for answers.
