Runaway
Twarres Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I know you won't
I know you well little darling
you're always on the move
It isn't the first time you're missing
Cause you're here and there and everywhere
Little darling tell me if you go
Run away but come back
You can't leave me now
Running may seem easy
I don't wanna lose you, confuse you
It's in the stars the road is waiting before you
And I know you will take your chances
Nothing is sacred, believe me
The time is now your destination is certain
As long as you're fearless
Run away but come back
You can't leave me now
Running may seem easy
All you should know I'll be with you
where ever you go
As long as you can make it home?
In Twarres's song "Runaway," the lyrics describe a person who is always on the move and cannot be tied down. The singer of the song is aware of this and doesn't ask for promises to be called or for the person to stay, knowing it's not in their nature. The person's tendency to run away is not new and they often go wherever they please, leaving the singer wondering if they will leave again.
Despite this, the singer makes a plea for the person to not leave, highlighting that running away may seem easy but staying is important. They express their desire to not lose or confuse the person and acknowledge that the road ahead of them is waiting. The singer urges the person to be fearless and take their chances as nothing is sacred, but to remember to come home.
Overall, the song's lyrics convey a sense of longing and uncertainty, as the singer hopes for the person's return but understands their tendency to roam. It speaks to the common human desire to explore and be free, while also acknowledging the importance of having a home and someone to come back to.
