you don't know give you my give you my heart I wanna
really do my it will always be here I cannot be there.
I got feeling.
I got feeling. Yeah.
Feel it.
Feel it.
Don't you know a feel it?
You don't, you don't, you don't, you don't
Feel it.
Feel it.
Don't you know a feel it?
Feel it.
Feel it.
Don't you know a feel it?
Feel it.

Feel it.
Don't you know a feel it?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Two Tons O' Fun's song "I Got The Feeling" may seem cryptic at first, but upon closer examination, they seem to express a sense of urgency and desire for emotional connection. The repeated phrases like "Don't you know, I feel it" and "You don't know, give you my heart" suggest a longing to be understood and to have one's feelings reciprocated.

The first few lines, "Don't you think of it, you don't know, you think of it," could be interpreted as an appeal to someone to consider the emotions being expressed. It's as if the singer is saying, "Think about what I'm saying, because you may not fully understand it." The repetition of "I got feeling" emphasizes the intensity of these emotions and the certainty that they are present.

The line "I cannot be there" suggests a physical separation or distance that prevents the singer from fully expressing their emotions. It could also signify an emotional barrier between the singer and the person they are addressing. Despite this distance, the singer asserts that their feeling will always be present, declaring, "It will always be here."

Overall, "I Got The Feeling" seems to be a plea for emotional connection, an expression of longing to be acknowledged and understood. The repetition of phrases and the use of simple, straightforward language adds to the urgency and emotional intensity of the song.

i am deeply envious of the people who lived through the golden age of dance music. it may not always seem like it, but there are many young people like myself (i'm 27) who have a profound respect for the black and hispanic communities that created what we now call "club culture". i hope that one day people like larry levan, frankie knuckles, david mancuso, and ron hardy become more widely recognized for their contribution to music history.
