You are so pretty, I want to die
You give myself, you give myself talk to you
But I want to, but I want to, want to
You give myself, you give myself talk to you
But I want to, but I want to, want to
I don't know why I wanna "oh-oh-oh"
You give myself, you give myself talk to you
But I want to, but I want to, want to
You give myself, you give myself talk to you
But I want to, but I want to, want to
The lyrics to Ty Segall's song Can't Talk express the confusion and conflicting emotions that the singer is experiencing. The repeated line "I don't know why I want to die" is a powerful admission of vulnerability and pain. However, this is quickly followed by "You are so pretty, I want to die," which seems to contradict the initial statement and suggests that the singer may be struggling with their feelings for someone or something in their life.
The chorus, "You give myself, you give myself talk to you, but I want to" suggests that the singer is torn between wanting to communicate and open up to someone, but also feeling the need to keep their thoughts and feelings to themselves. The repetition of the phrase "but I want to," adds an extra layer of complexity to this inner conflict.
In the second verse, the question "What can you feel that I'm tired?" highlights the opposition between wanting to be with someone and feeling exhausted by them at the same time. The repeated "oh-oh-oh" that follows this line could be interpreted as a symbol of the singer's fatigue or their inability to find the right words to express their emotions.
Overall, the song is a powerful exploration of the difficulties of self-expression and the internal struggles that we all face at some point in our lives.
