From the sound to the tip of your tongue now
I wanna hear you touch my ear drum
I wanna hear our tongues make friction
It doesn't matter what we're saying
Existing freely and harmonizing
Inventing notes to form a language

I realize I've never heard before
We don't need a pitch to make the perfect chord
I wanna hear our tongues make friction
I wanna speak our songs and sing them
It doesn't matter what we're saying
Existing freely and harmonizing
Inventing notes to form a language
A chord together, now harmonizing

The lyrics to Ty Segall's song "Harmonizer" speak to the power of communication through harmonization. The "words slip, drip and roll down" as the singer longs to "hear [their partner] touch [their] ear drum" and "hear our tongues make friction." The words themselves don't necessarily matter, as long as the two individuals can "invent notes to form a language" and "harmonize" together. It's about finding a shared connection through sound and the physicality of creating music. The repetition of the word "harmonizing" emphasizes the importance and beauty of this connection.
The second half of the song continues with this theme, as the singer reflects on the fact that they have "never heard before" the harmonization that they are experiencing. They don't need a specific pitch or direction, as long as they can create the "perfect chord" between them. The desire to "speak our songs and sing them" speaks to a deeper connection and desire for understanding and expression between the two individuals. Overall, the lyrics convey a sense of intimacy and vulnerability, highlighting the power of harmonization in creating a shared language and connection between two people.
