Mama Mama Look at Me
U.S. Military Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Mama told me there'd be days like this
I ain't never felt a pain like this
Remember sunny days? I swear it never used to rained like this
I ain't never felt a pain like this
But here we are two souls that have separated
Who'd have thought you and I would've ever dated
We proved them all wrong, every single one of them hated
And of all of these couples you and I were my favorite (DAMN)
I never knew a love like this
Burned hotter than the suns bright kiss
I could've never imagined the flame dying down like this
Late in the night, fighting tears back as I write this
I won't lie it took a while to get over you
No more sneaking from behind, grabbing a hold of you

We was lover and now we're former acquaintances
You know it's really over when you find texts and erase the shit

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of U.S. Military's song "Mama Mama Look at Me" talk about the pain of separation and heartbreak. The singer starts by recalling his mother's warning about tough days, but claims he has never experienced a pain like this. He reminisces about the sunny days and how he never imagined it would rain like this. He acknowledges the separation from his partner, two souls going their separate ways, having proved others wrong who doubted their relationship. The singer further adds that of all couples, he and his partner were his favorite. He had never known a love like theirs that had burned brightly like the sun's kiss, but now the flame has died, and he fights back tears as he writes the lyrics. He admits it took him a while to get over his partner and acknowledges they were once lovers, but now they are just former acquaintances. Finding and deleting text messages suggests that the relationship has truly ended.

The lyrical song "Mama Mama Look at Me" by the U.S. Military has a deep emotional tone and theme of heartbreak, but it also represents the struggles and challenges of military life. I love your voice so much. It takes a lot for someone to put themselves out especially here on YouTube. I am super proud of you. I can't wait to see you live again. 🥰

Thank you my buddy in the Army sang this cadence to me and my husband that is retired navy showed me this one and I sent my buddy this cadence and it made him cry. He told me it brought back memories of when he was in boot camp. He’s a Sergeant. My adopted son is in the navy and sent me Full Metal Jacket 10 minutes ago. Thank you so much for doing these. I have a lot of respect for you and all of our Military personal and their families for what they go through.
