My son is at the PI right now, 6th week for them. When he told me he wanted to follow me and be a Marine, my heart dropped. I knew the pain he would go through and that hurt me as a father. I also knew he was done being my youngest son. He would graduate a Marine. Forever changed and I couldn’t be more proud.

He wrote a few weeks in and said knowing I went through and was a Marine helps him every day to keep going. If I could do it, he could. I bawled like a friggin’ baby. No lie.

Outstanding, Marines! MCRD, 1969. I always could run longer, and easier, with a DI like these guys calling cadence.
To this day, 52 years later, at the gym, I always say to myself at the end of a rep series, “And One more for the Corps.” Motivated!

Hey Moto, they already men, Marine Corps with make them better. They will walk through the years with these values instilled in them: Honor, Courage and Commitment. They are the building blocks that will aid them in making the right decisions at the right time, both on the battlefield and in our Nation's communities.
They are entering a brotherhood, and will always be a Marine for the rest of their lives. Semper Fidelis or Semper Fi (Latin for "always faithful"). This is how one Marine greets another. You as parents have laid the foundation, great job. God bless your commitment to your children.

Takes me right back to parris island. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. If i had to do it all over again i would still join. Truly a life changing experience that i cherish. It opened so many opportunities after i got out. I now work for one of the biggest aviation companies making over 100k a year. Best part is i work with one of my best friends from the corps. If youre on the fence i would do it. It will be life changing.

Listening to these cadences makes think of the verses my dad used to sing for me when telling me stories of his days as a Devil Dog. Dad was a Vietnam Vet and he wasvfiercely proud of his time in the Corps. Dad always said there was no such thing as a former Marine and I believe him. He also said that Marines were guarding Heavens corridors. Dad went to take his post in 2017 and I can see him in those heavenly Dress Blues. I'm a proud Marine's daughter. I miss my dad and his tales of Parris Island. Our entire family is from SC and we love the Marines

Started running to cadences when my brother joined in 2013. Helped me feel closer to him in boot camp and through his deployments. Finished my first half marathon running to them last year. This video is superior to lots of other USMC cadences on YouTube, so thanks for that! The only suggestion I have is to get rid of the ads. They’re new this week, and I strongly dislike them.

I grew up in the Marine corp.. Spent time on both sides of the cadence, it's alot harder then most people think. Alot cannot do it. Definitely makes a man out of you. Better for it and loved it. Listening makes me want to get up and run, but my knees won't let me.

@lunzie thank you very much for sharing your husband's story. My father was in Vietnam as well and struggled raising me and my brother and sister due to his ptsd. One positive thing he did was raise us in the Roman Catholic Church to understand the importance of Jesus christ and his fatherly role. Our serviceman in this country give all just as Jesus did for the betterment of everyone else. I will remember your husband in my daily prayers along with every serviceman in this amazing country. Like toby Keith says so we can sleep in peace at night as we lay down our head. There is someone out there and I am so very grateful for all of you.

Its truly amazing to run in step to a cadence among a well oiled group of men in their prime singing to the high heavens. Until you have made that run and sang the cadence you can't fully appreciate the motivation that comes. Each voice unique, but united like no other, becoming a Marine and living the ethos is what we do as Marines. Making that commitment to join was one thing, but making the grade and graduating is another level that only those who have survived and became Marines can understand. I'd like one more trip around the 'grinder'.

Hey! I’m 17 and my USMC Recruiter picked me up to do the practice ASVAB the other day and he said I fucking crushed it, first time taking it ever and got a 42. Now since I’m just now becoming a senior in high school I’m being put in the delayed entry program (DEP) and he said all I’ll need is to get my diploma and they got the rest, so I should have 1 more year until I be a Marine! 🇺🇸
