Uno cemented himself as a pillar of the rap scene in 2015, taking the underground by storm with the release of his No More Thotties mixtape and songs like "Parkin' Lot Pimpin'," "Giuseppe Swag," and "WHAT." Uno would respond to the craving for new music held by his fans for two years by releasing his debut studio mixtape Live.Shyne.Die in late 2017.
A desire for musical experimentation led to his mid-2018 EP Limbus. The series' second installment would release in December of that same year. This trend of experimentation would continue itself with the release of Uno's Deadication remix project in mid-2019.
Uno delivered Deadication II: Lost Files in early 2020, a mixtape containing vaulted songs dating back to 2017. In mid-2020, Uno released his highly-anticipated debut studio album, 8, which included popular tracks "Das Him," "Night Mode," and "Can't Go."
At the beginning of 2021, Uno would release his sophomore studio album, Unoverse, a 10-track LP that would mark his first independent release since his 2017 EP Sorry for the Wait. The project featured standout cuts "Taco Bell" and "Opp Pack." ~ Alexander L. & Hamed T.

Trap cause I was unemployed
I had to work up in the trap
I had to work up in the
Trap 'cause I was unemployed, yeah
Tuckin' work from twelve all
In my Balmain corduroys, yeah
It got me paranoid, yeah
Don't you come inside my trap
House makin' hella noise, yeah
Had to work up in the
Trap 'cause I was unemployed, yeah
Had to work up in the
Trap 'cause I was unemployed, yeah
Tuckin' work from twelve all
In my Balmain corduroys, yeah
Ridin' 'round town with them pounds
It got me paranoid it got me paranoid
It got me paranoid
Don't you walk inside my trap
House makin' hella noise
Had to work up in the
Trap 'cause I was unemployed
Tuckin' work from twelve all
In my Balmain corduroys
I was lookin' out the window
Had to go abort that grab my work
I grab my work then flush it down the toilet
Then I told my brother Uno
"Hit the back door"
And I'm wishin' they don't catch
Him like a Dragon Ball if they catch us
I'ma give them what they askin' for
Two shots to the body, one shot to the jaw
Yeah
Damn, they ain't catch us, close call, yeah
Now my niggas pourin' up the whole four
Serve a nigga broad day
I will serve a nigga broad day
Riding down to Broadway
I had work on me like all day
Gotta get this guapo, man
I gotta get this money
If the D's run up on me
Just know that I got bail money
I get fast money, nigga, fucking fast money
Shit done hit the wall like
A fucking crash dummy
All this jewelry on my arm
Look like a fucking cast, don't it?
Got a rich gang, feel like Birdman
Cash Money all these foreign hoes
Never meant to brag on 'em
She put me on her face like
A fuckin' mask on it
Ayy, I bought that bitch a bag
She ain't notice the tag on it
Uno got the bag dope with the tan on it
I had to work up in the
Trap 'cause I was unemployed, yeah
Tuckin' work from twelve all
In my Balmain corduroys, yeah
Ridin' round town with them pounds
It got me paranoid, yeah
Don't you come inside my trap
House makin' hella noise, yeah
Had to work up in the
Trap 'cause I was unemployed, yeah
Had to work up in the
Trap 'cause I was unemployed, yeah
Tuckin' work from twelve all
In my Balmain corduroys, yeah
Ridin' 'round town with them pounds
It got me paranoid it got me paranoid
It got me paranoid
Don't you walk inside my trap
House makin' hella noise
Had to work up in the
Trap 'cause I was unemployed
Tuckin' work from twelve all
In my Balmain corduroys
The lyrics to "Unemployed" by UnoTheActivist ft. Mar90s depict the struggles of being unemployed and the desperation to make money by resorting to illegal activities. The song portrays the singer working in the trap - a term often used to refer to a drug-dealing location - out of necessity. The repetition of the line "Had to work up in the trap 'cause I was unemployed" emphasizes the dire circumstances the singer finds themselves in.
The lyrics also touch on themes of paranoia, as the singer is constantly wary of being caught by the authorities. This is conveyed through lines like "Ridin' 'round town with them pounds, it got me paranoid" and "Don't you come inside my trap house makin' hella noise." The fear of getting caught is palpable, and the consequences of being apprehended are hinted at with lines such as "Then I told my brother Uno, 'Hit the back door' / And I'm wishin' they don't catch him like a Dragon Ball."
The song also reflects a certain disregard for the law and a sense of urgency to make money. The lyrics mention serving a customer in broad daylight and the singer's determination to accumulate wealth: "If the D's run up on me, just know that I got bail money / I get fast money, nigga, fucking fast money." The mention of expensive clothing and jewelry further emphasizes the desire for material success and the hedonistic lifestyle associated with it.
Overall, "Unemployed" portrays the struggles, risks, and mindset of individuals involved in illegal activities as a means of survival.
