H-Bomb
Unidentified Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Now here's a little story that I would like to tell
'Bout this big old world and how it's gonna swell
There's many, many times that it's tried to explode
Because of 2 big wars it tried to unload

It's called H-bomb!

Now the worst ol' war that we'll ever see
Will start with one big bomb from over the sea
So please take heed to what I have to say
Keep this thing from happening in that awful way

It's called H-bomb!

Now the worst ol' war that we'll ever see
Will start with one big bomb from over the sea
So please take heed to what I have to say
Keep this thing from happening in that awful way

It's called H-bomb!
It's called H-bomb!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Unidentified's song H-Bomb are a cautionary tale about the dangers of nuclear weapons and the devastating impact they can have on the world. The opening lines of the song introduce the idea that the world is a delicate place and has attempted to destroy itself in the past, specifically referencing the two big wars of the 20th century. The repetition of the phrase "It's called H-bomb!" throughout the song illustrates the gravity of the threat posed by these weapons.

The second verse of the song underscores the potentially catastrophic consequences of nuclear war, suggesting that it could be triggered by a single bomb dropped from overseas. The lyrics implore the listener to take heed and prevent this from happening in order to avoid a worst-case scenario. The repetition of the phrase "It's called H-bomb!" at the end of the song serves as a stark reminder of this impending danger.

Overall, Unidentified's H-Bomb serves as a sobering reminder of the catastrophic potential of nuclear weapons and the need for global action to prevent their use.

For anyone wondering how a recording wouldn't have a name associated with it. In the 1940s-1970s you could go to a makeshift recording studio (these were all over the place back then) and record a demo record on a 78rpm. Some people would even record love letters and such and send these out as gifts. It's very possible that this was one of these records and may have been found with no name as this may have been a gift or demo record.

Sun Records in Memphis, TN started off that way. Initially known simply as Memphis Recording Service, before starting the label, they were recording unknowns to disc for a few dollars. Even after Sun was formed, they still recorded people coming in off the street, including an 18 year electrician's assistant named Elvis Presley. Sun has released pretty much everything extant in their archive, including a few tracks here and there with no name associated with them.

Like they did in "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?"!

Me and momma had one done, showed it to poppa, he looked at it, took it at arm's length and then flung it up on the roof.
We didn't get it back til spring because the roof was covered in snow. Pitter patter, pitter patter, it's just my heart, what does it matter. Dreams are built and then they shatter, pitter patter, pitter patterrrr.

What is being described here is known on the internet as "lostwave"

The most famous example of lostwave is an unknown 80s song released sometime in the mid-1980s, dubbed "the most mysterious song on the internet"
